The Salem Witch trials should've purged witches, mages, and magical beings from the world, but thirteen powerful families came together and created a portal for their kind to an otherworld realm known as Mythic. Mythic is afterward made up of thirteen provincial villages and one of them is Havenswood, where Claire lives. Claire, a charming and rustic young woman, discovers she is an Elemental when she is six, and must learn to secretly harness her abilities of manipulating water.
Elementals are a once-in-a-generation kind of beings and only four can exist per time, all of them attuned to a particular element of the earth. However, Elementals have long been considered threats in Mythic and are constantly hunted by the infamous Onyx Clan. Despite what she is, Claire has to conceal her real identity from everyone including her childhood friend whom she loves, Alec, even though he is eventually betrothed to another for political reasons.
When the Onyx Clan comes after her and Killian, the Elemental capable of manipulating fire whom she freed from a brig at the capital, she has no choice but to use all she has to defend the land she hopes would someday be a haven for the rest of her kind. But with the portal waning in strength and the magical aura of Mythic dwindling with it, Claire and Alec must figure out how to start a family with the possibility of danger hovering on the horizon.
As a child, my grandma would read books to me all the time. Listening to her stories instilled in me a passion for the written word. As I grew older, I started writing my own books to make my grandmother proud. I fell in love with books that feature fantastic realms, amazing characters, and supernatural elements, and so I decided I should write the kind of stories I love. I hope my readers can escape their everyday lives and the world I’ve created for them, even if only for a little while. Now, I’m finally ready to share my books with you.
I live in the Buckeye State with my significant other and my beautiful puppy.
Burn Like A Beacon: Book One: The Elemental Chronicle Series help up its name. I couldn’t put it down from the moment I got this book. I read the first seventeen chapters and finished it with the day I got the ARC. This book took me through a journey of great storytelling and beautiful imagery. I typically don’t read fantasy books because it’s hard for me to grasp the concept of the world itself, but this book was captivating from start to finish. When Claire was learning abilities and to properly handle them in tough situations, I couldn’t let her go. She has so much personality about her and I loved the friendship she had with Killian. I know how special a friendship can be, and the tension between Alec and him really heated up. As someone who loves character building, I fell in love with her. There’s so much I can say about this book, and more, but I just loved it. Great Read!
