This is a very interesting book. I learned quite a bit about the topic, but the beginning was too much like a review of a biology class. The book was not boring though. I found myself not wanting to put it down at times, but to me, it was just a refresher.

Once you finished and got into that actual industry part of the book, it was much more informational. They started talking about how genetic modification is used and how it is useful. Also a bit on the technology that created the industry.

I would recommend this book to anyone who knows nothing on the subject, or those that would want to refresh themselves on what the topic entails.

The Biotech Primer is an okay intro I suppose. But it's hard to tell for whom the book is meant. What was the point of the DNA 101 chapter - are there really that many people going into biotech who don't know what genes are? The latter chapters were useful overviews though - if that portion of the book had been 2-3 times longer than this would have been a really useful introduction.
