~ you never really knew me but i wish you did (báseň strangers in a crowd) ~ i would have told you but you never asked (báseň layers) ~ i faked all of my "orgasms" (báseň surprise) ~ i still think about you everyday (báseň background noise)
Heartbreakingly beautiful texts that have been typed and remain unsent to an ex. A simple yet effective way to find some closure and freedom from your thoughts and emotions for sure. I think many if us can relate to the thoughts and feelings captured in the messages and concept of the book. Beautiful and heartbreaking words.
I loved the messages she sent and ones she couldn’t but wanted to because if we are being honest we all have been there. I have messages I wish I could send but was scared of the repercussions 😢😢😢😢
I love this simple poetry book and it was cute I just wish it was a bit longer
I normally don’t care for modern poetry. However, this was — I can’t say a pleasant surprise because the themes were indeed sad. I think this was interesting and heart provoking to read. I kinda wish it were longer but I also think it being such a short book left no room for disappointment for someone like me who usually does NOT like modern poetry though I read it to give it a chance at times.
Towards the ending the poems felt lazy, like they weren’t given effort. Although, there was one quote that stuck out to me, “just because we share the same blood eyes and last name does not mean you were ever a father to me.”
“i would have told you but you never asked.” That quote is poetry? Poetry has gotten so lazy in the 21st century, it’s honestly sad. People call anything poetry these days. These really are just text messages or even tweets. Nothing poetic or beautiful about them.
The only bad thing I can say about this book is that I wish there were more poems in it. Because the themes are good, and I know that a lot them will resonate with people. So overall, and fantastic (but short) collection of poems^^
Okay, but not one that got me rereading each poem because it hits hard. I got through it within 10minutes, didn’t really have much impact and not one I’d read again. Glad I got a free download on kindle unlimited and didn’t waste my money on buying the book which I usually do for poetry.
It was ok. It just felt like generic sentences you hear in movies. It was too basic for my enjoyment. Typical heartbroken poems. They were relatable but just aren’t my cup of tea.
What a way to start off 2025! I loved this short poem book! I think all young adults and teenagers should read this. It's so motivating and moving. These quotes resonate with me because of my life experiences.
"i didn’t block you because i hated you i blocked you because i still love you"
"just because we share the same blood eyes and last name does not mean you were ever a father to me"
