Rate this book
“Have you seen my little girl?”

Detective Heather Bishop has had to face many challenges in her career.
She arrived in the quaint town of Glenville hoping for a fresh start.
So far, nothing in Glenville has been easy or simple.
And when an eight-year-old girl Violet goes missing at the town’s Christmas festival, Heather is on the scene.

Did the young girl wander off into the woods? Or has she been taken?
It's a race against the December chill and all the festival attendees are on their feet searching for the precious child.

As the case hits a dead end, it takes a puzzling turn when Violet’s parents receive phone calls taunting them with each passing moment.
Now there are more suspects arising at every turn.

And the question on everyone's mind is, what really happened to the lost girl?

This is the best book yet, I know i say this every time I finished reading one of the books by Cara Kent but it truly is.
With each book we get closer to the real Detective Heather and her as a person not just as a detective, her character development throughout the series is really good.
This case hits very close to home for her because the person who disappear is a little girl, reminding her of the terrible case in her past.
The relationship between Heather and Gabriel is so much fun to read about and I like the way they complement each other in their work, more and more it feels not like a mentor and mentee but equal partners.
It looks like Heather finally is getting a new life partner in Julius, and has a lot of investigating to do about the role her ex husband played in the murder of his fiancee and another woman in London, which I hope will be case on the next book.
I enjoy this series so much and look forward to reading the following book.

I don't know which of Ms Kent's series I like more. But The Lost Girl is my favorite so far. All of the suspense and drama building up and then you get thrown a curveball. It was wonderful to be so surprised by who was guilty. Heather is a force to be reckoned with and I could see myself being friends with her and Gabriel. Heather and Gabriel's relationship is fun. And when you add in Julius, you just know more adventure is around the corner. Glenville is a place I wish you could visit. The rest of the characters provide the support and maybe even future stories. Don't miss out on the latest chapter of Heather's life!

Just loved this, it starts slow and then builds and builds. There are so many strands that are there and it works so well. I don't know what to say as if I am so worried about spoilers, just enjoy it.

The relationships work so well.
I don't think it matters if you haven't read the other books but I think it will add so much more if you do read them in the order.

I was given an advance copy by the author but the review is entirely my own.

Violet is nine years old who believes she is grown up. She has three-year-old twin brothers who take a lot of her parents' time. Her parents also stream their lives online. The Christmas Carnival becomes a problem for Heather Bishop and the rest of the police force when Violet becomes missing. But as they look into the lives of the people involved there are many hidden secrets. But will those secrets help find Violet? I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This Heather Bishop thriller had an unusual twist to the ending!
The characters, Heather, Gabriel and Julius continue to grow personally in their relationships.
