This is a daily devotional which at first I didn't know but it is such a great read.
I actually felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to read 100 pages a day of the devotional and so glad that I did because the Lord really spoke to me and reached down into places I didn't know existed and into places I knew existed but was afraid of.
God has started a work in me and a stirred a fire that is quickly turning into an inferno and I love it. Thank You Jesus, for Your Wonder Working Power.
This book seems like a collection from other T.D. Jakes books. If felt like it was phoned in at times instead of seeming like new material. Dome devotions got me thinking and some had me angry. I felt frustrated by much of what I read.
This is a great inspirational nightstand book. This is something that you can look back on over and over again throughout the year to keep you inspired and pressing toward the mark.
I have been curious about what Jakes has to say, so when this came up as a freebie on BookBub I took the opportunity to finally get around to doing it. The specific volume is a daily meditation book, so there are no full expositions of his theology. One can get a broader view of his beliefs through the elements that he revisits. Two areas of repeated discussion are 1) you are not your past; once a Christian the past evils and bad mistakes no longer count against you, and 2) your newfound faith will help guide in doing bigger and better things.
Unlike many other contemporary Christian writers, Jakes does not sugar coat the world, either before or after becoming a Christian, and he holds true to traditional Christian theology.
I will probably look for some other works of a non-daily devotional format to see how Jakes fully develops his message.
I have had this journal for such a long time - I have been able to pick it up and put it down, but each time is like the first time!!!!!!!
I really enjoy working through any journal with God's purpose intent. This is a part of my daily morning worship and I know that by the time I complete 365 days of writing and journaling I will have more wisdom and direction
