I don’t get Jonah and Calla. They both seem so selfish to me. This one wasn’t as good as the first one. I loved Roy and feel that he saved this novel for me. I would love a book about all of the side characters.

This is the second book in this romance series, so this continued with Calla and Jonah's love story. K. A. Tucker writes about Calla moving from Toronto to Alaska to be with Jonah and about them finding and settling into their new cabin-style home about an hour from Anchorage. This brings out new challenges for both of them as they navigate their new life together. We are introduced to a variety of new neighbours and community members that help Calla and Jonah adapt to their rural surroundings. Calla finds herself dealing with a life she never knew she wants and is so different from her urban hustle and bustle life in Toronto, but finds herself thriving in new activities. As Jonah settles into flying his charter plane to help put out forest fires and flying out private groups to hunt, his long hours and days away start to cause Calla frustration and worry, which makes her second guess her new life. Lots of real life concerns and situations mixed with a fun romantic comedy vibe made it another good read. I look forward to reading the next part of their love story. 4/5

This was a continuation to the Simple Wild series and it follows Jonah and Calla’s love story. She is still very much the city girl and he is very much the rough mans man which leads to some bumps along the road but it showcases how relationships are a give and take, that two different people can make it work, and we can grow from being stretched in ways we never knew we could. There are a few storylines and relationships running parallel to the main love story so you get to follow Calla in more than one aspect of her life. She makes unexpected friends and fights to find purpose in this new place she calls home. I can’t wait to read the next installment.

Amazing read! This love story had it all: believable characters, love, lust, adventure, humor, drama, angst... The author masterfully weaves together a passionate romance while keeping the characters' emotions raw and real. The tension between the leads had me hooked, and the blend of humor and heartache added depth to their journey. The relationship between the protagonist and her father was particularly well-executed, adding another layer of depth and realism.. Each twist and turn in the plot kept me on my toes, making this more than just a typical love story. Whether you're looking for a heartfelt romance or a thrilling emotional ride, this book delivers on all fronts.

Loved everything about this story. How Calla left Alaska at the age of two, and how she ended up going back for those few months to be with her dad. Loved Jonah and the banter between him and Calla. Very well written.

I enjoyed the unlikely love story of Calla and Jonah. It is set in Alaska where Calla travels from Toronto to visit her sick father who owns an airplane tour company. An easy read.

The book was called The Running Wild. I could not find it on the list of books, but it was a good read. The author followed that book up with one called Running Wild, which is a sequel

After Calla’s dad passes she goes back to Toronto and Jonah comes and asks her to go back to Alaska and the rest is history. Loved getting more of Calla and Jonah’s story.

Beautiful Writing, Deep Characters, and So Much Heart!

The Simple Wild series completely stole my heart. From the very first book, I was drawn into the world of Alaska, the breathtaking scenery, and especially complicated relationship between Calla and her father, as well as Calla and Jonah.

K.A. Tucker has such a gift for writing characters that feel real, they feel flawed, funny, vulnerable, and full of heart of course. Watching Calla grow from a city girl completely out of her element into someone who finds a home and love in the most unexpected place was such a rewarding journey. And Jonah… what can I even say? He's stubborn, loyal, and absolutely unforgettable!

Each book adds more depth to their relationship and to the cast of characters around them. It’s a story about love, loss, family, and figuring out where you belong. The writing is beautiful and full of emotion. At times it made me laugh out loud, and at other times, it brought me to tears.

This series will stay with me for a lonnnnnng time (it already has - I first read this book in 2021 when I started my reading journey and have thought about it so much) It’s one I’ll definitely revisit, and one I recommend to anyone who loves heartfelt contemporary romance with strong character growth and a beautiful setting.
