Ok

It was an ok read but I had reservation about the FMC, Leanne. Her character was a bit flat, neutral, and on the coward side. Of course she went through hell, and had a very complicated youth but still, have some balls girl!!! She accepted every decisions her mother took for her, and instead of fighting or just talking she took refugee in drinking???
The guys were ok even if I didn't really connect with them. This book is a polyamorous romance and not a RH as they all ended f*cking together🙄 The sudden attraction between Spencer and E.A. sounded especially fake🤦🏻‍♀️ That was stupid!

Although at the heart of this book is a sweet story the background stories that surrounded it are a bit darker.

Leanna (FMC) is the survivor of a life changing/threatening event that left her traumatised enough that she uprooted and relocated to Cressidan City. Which in turn leads her to a job at a P.I business and 2 Alphas - E. A & Spencer, a Beta - Toshi and and Omega - Echo. As well as all of the complications that they brought. I did like their relationship together and even though Leanne had a lot of hurt in her past she seemed to grow more with the guys. This was a standalone read it was still part of a series that Ive enjoyed reading a lot and this was a great addition to it.

MMFMM (RH)✅

Standalone✅

Kindle Unlimited ✅

HEA✅

Pregnancy at end✅

Kinks galore ✅

Former alcoholic, non virgin 37YO fmc ✅

Her harem all ⚔️✅

Detective Agency✅

Medium to med heavy ish spice✅

Ridiculously long book✅

I liked this fmc-she wasn’t too stupid to live but clearly had struggles. Her inner dialogue felt right for who she was and how she was portrayed.

The harem of four men are all distinctive enough that they didn’t blend together into one. But even after reading over 130 chapters I never felt like I really knew them well. I mean, EA is a weirdo due to trauma. Spencer-idk somehow I forgot his backstory. Toshi-idk he likes tea bc his mother drank it. Echo. Omega. Omg I am horrible at retaining information 😝🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

There are a lot of details in this book that are not always necessary to me. But it was all easy to read and not tedious.

The only super thrilling chapters are near the end involving Leanne. There is no kidnapping of her and she does not get hurt by the bad guy in this book. So my anxiety peeps, you may enjoy reading this one. You get some mystery (ish) but the excitement is short lived and resolved quickly.

Heed the content warnings. If the mere topic of human trafficking sends you over the edge, then skip this book. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Topics include (most off page) human trafficking, almost being unalived by a serial killer, wounds still healing post serial killer run in, parental death, alcoholism, trauma of not being allowed to raise your own daughter, teen pregnancy, uhm if I recall anymore I will add them.

I have tons of quotes from the book so hopefully it will give you a solid idea of whether you would enjoy the story.

There are plenty of typos, misspellings and such but not a deal breaker and all sort of tiny ones. For instance enroll was spelled enrol. Stuff like that.
The story itself read smoothly and I wasn’t left wondering wth is going on. I will add that at times I feel the author takes creative liberties way too much in this story.
Just almost making shit up to move the story in the direction she wants even if it doesn’t make sense or isn’t necessary.

My only complaint is a personal preference. In my RH books w MM I prefer for the men to use ass or tight hole OR something else other than a girl associated word like C U N T when talking and doing the booty lube dance. 🤣When the guys would use that with other dudes I was like-DUDE that’s an as$hole not a vagina. But again, just a preference for me. In some circles I know that’s a kink. No shame here. Just my reading pref. And I bring it up bc it was a term used quite a few times.

I read this book as a standalone, not having read the book before. It was clear right away, I missed something, however the author did a great job at filling in the blanks. So while, I was a little lost at times, I never felt completely out of the loop.

Leanne is healing and starting anew. She was brutally beaten and stabbed from a crazy serial killer. Finally healing, she is leaving all she's ever known to be with her estranged daughter and her pack.

Coming to the city comes with its own set of challenges for her and she's learning more about herself than she ever realized. When the search for a job lands her in a strange office of private investigations, she never realized shed meet her fated mates.

Meeting Spencer, E.A., Echo and Toshi was not love at first sight for her. But when fate takes over, everything else in inevitable. Soon, she's finding herself about to go undercover to uncover a man up to no good. But, when life is finally too good to be true, will they let her embark on this need to save others when she herself is finally free?

I enjoyed the premise of the storyline, however I thought it was slow and I was definitely looking forward to more of the whole uncovering situation. The build up of the pack together was slow and had a fair share of MM in it. I'm not sure why some authors don't put that in the blurb. I'm not against it at all and I'm sure not going to yuck somebody's yum...but I probably would have skipped over this book had I known beforehand.

That being said, the book was okay. I enjoyed the overall story line but just wanted more. It was more about Leanne overcoming all she has gone through in her crazy life..

*Overall 3.5/5
*Heat? 3/5
*Multiple first person POV
*Med burn for Leanne. Fast burn for the pack.
*Ends on HEA

We learn that Leann and Secret had one relationship and it turns out their relationship is actually completely different. With that in mind, Leann moves closer to Secret to build on their new relationship. Once there, she finds a job with a local PI. What she doesn’t expect is to find her fated mates.

This is a sweet story involving love, fated mates, a found family, and more. I love that Leann, found her happiness and healing with her new mates. As well as have a beautiful relationship with Secret.

Romy Lockhart Sweetverse has switched gears, the previous books concentrated on omegas, well Ruined Beta focuses on Leanne Leto a beta who's about to get the surprise of her life.

In the previous books, I thought Leanne was a little sad, I felt for her, she's been through a lot of major trauma. Leanne surprised me in this book, while she still has some major PTSD she's trying to be better. Leanne is incredibly observant and smarter than she gives herself credit for. I liked that she was kinda ballsy despite her trauma and that she wasn't ashamed of her physical scars. Leanne was cool and I liked that she put it all out there emotionally.

I liked all the guys for different reasons. Spencer was the moral compass, he's a good guy. Echo is an adorable omega, he was a little different from what I'm used to but he was like a warm hug. Then there's Toshi who I would give a hug because if someone needed it, it was him. The beta is sweet but has his issues. Speaking of issues E.A. has loads of them. I started off thinking he was one way but her turned out to be totally different. There was a lot of unexpected emotional stuff with him, he was the most surprising. E.A. became my favorite.

I was surprised to realize that this was an older pack. The characters range from late 30s to mid-40s, it was interesting seeing a pack come together at that stage in life. However, this pack was a hot mess before Leanne stumbled into their lives. I loved seeing Leanne, walk in and be so confident about her place with them, and seeing her helping them over the stumbling blocks they didn't even realize were there. Another great surprise was the PI twist, it kind of gives off that detective feel and I enjoyed that. I enjoyed the plot. As with the previous books, Romy gives us the dark side of this omegaverse. There's a case, stake-outs, bad guys, hacking, and so much more. There was some emotional stuff and a plot twist I didn't see coming but makes perfect sense.

Of course, I absolutely loved Ruined Beta, at this point I'm addicted and I'm ready for the next doesn't matter if they're alpha, beta, or omega-focused. Luckily for me, Romy has more books planned.

Readers get introduced to Leanne in the first book of the series - Secret Omega. She is making a lot of big transitions in her life: moving to a small town to a city, navigating the dynamics of her relationship with Secret, and adjusting to living in a replica of the apartment that she almost lost her life in. We find out a lot about Leanne in the book and she evolves from being the screw up older sister to being a complex individual dealing with the aftermath of trying to carry the burden of loss and living a lie since she was a teenager.

Leanne is a strong and resilient character, but I would have liked more insight on how her past affected her. She had an aversion to Alphas, but I never really say much of that in the book. I did like how they didn't gloss over her alcoholism and how even after being clean for years she was concerned that something that might be seen as insignificant like alcohol being cooked into food might cause her a major setback. I felt like her 'intuition' was a nice addition to the book and how she was determined to prove herself not only to others, but herself as well.

As for the guys I started off really not caring for one of the guys and thinking another was going to be a fav and it ended up being the complete opposite. The dynamics of the relationships in the pack were all over the place, but not in a bad way. This was a very fast burn - like I don't know you, but let's go half on a baby. There was definitely a rift in the pack that lasted throughout most of the book. Made for a lot of unnecessary drama I don't care for, but it created an opportunity for Leanne to come in and solve all of their problems.

I really liked how the story played out. I was bit surprised at some of the twists when one of the mates always seemed to be in the know about everything. I was concerned about a kidnapping or some kind of imprisonment (and that was the last thing she needed) so I'm glad it didn't happen. I am looking forward to seeing how the mission Secret and her pack plays out and what part Leanne's pack might play in it.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "RUINED BETA" OMG!!! What Leanne survived was nothing but a miracle from a brutal attack by a serial killer, PTSD, emotional turmoil, intrigue, suspense, angst, mystery, steam, trauma, intense drama, twists & surprises that has you on the edge of your seat you can't put down a page turner for sure.
Leanne Leto has had a difficult life running from the truth but now her secret has been revealed she's bound & determined to get over her deepest fear of being around Alphas, after almost being killed by an Alpha Serial Killer but she was saved by one of her daughter Secret's mates Ryan he's a Beta, Secret is an Omega, Seth an Alpha, Cassidy an Alpha also & Dylan an Omega, they'll do anything to protect her.
Leanne is leaving the Beta Town of Silver Lake to go Cressidan City with Secret & her Mates Secret is getting her degree at Cressidan College, Leanne has an apartment close by, she needs job meet Toshi in coffee shop he works for Sultz & Spencer Investigations where she ends up getting a job then finds out Spencer, E.A., Echo & Toshi are her mates.
Leanne realizes things are difficult between E. A. & Spencer because he disagrees using Leanne as bait to get Harlan West he feels she been through to much already & could he dangerous, dealing with human trafficking, dirty cops, rich psycho Alphas, so much happens.
I definitely recommend to get this riviting story Leanne, Spencer, E.A., Echo & Toshi take you on a rollercoaster ride, will she claim them all as her mates, will catch Harlan West, you have to get this book to see how everything turns out,I thoroughly enjoyed this story with all the great interesting characters that pull you right into all the chaos.
AWESOME OMEGAVERSE ROMANCE I LOVED IT 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤

Overall, this story was okay but I felt like we barely got to know the characters other than maybe Leanne and E.A. I think the story focused a bit too much on the trafficking investigation and would've preferred a more developed relationship between the characters; in other words some romance.

There were a couple of issues I had. The first was that they treated Leanne like she was their saving grace as if she did something so miraculous, when I personally don't think she did much.

The next issue I had was how the men handled their relationship with Toshi. In all honesty, they were pretty dense. I really felt bad for him. I find it hard to believe that they can leave their "fated mate" on his own for three whole years just because they wanted to be respectful and wait for him to take the initiative. Considering they were in a long term relationship before he came along and that he was a beta, they should've have known better and taken the initiative. And Spencer and Echo "enticing" him by being sexual with each other was not it smh. I also hated how he was given a small spare bedroom that barely fit a bed and that the other three would always get intimate without him; poor guy was so lonely. Toshi clearly had some reserves and I felt like his insecurities were never addressed/resolved. I felt like his role/position within the pack was never solidfied and that he was aways somewhat of an afterthought.

I also don't know if I missed it but I don't believe Spencer and Leanne ever mated. I also think the smut scenes were a bit tame and would've like some more spice.

Spice: 3/5 - no big heat scene like most omegaverse novels but it was fitting since this was more Beta-oriented

I have not read the first book in this series and was able to follow along easily without any confusion. Any overlapping areas were explained.

Plot- I was nervous this was going to be super anxiety heavy but luckily it wasn’t. A moment here or there but nothing crazy that made me need some happy pills to get through. We are introduced to all of the MCs early on and the relationship’s develop naturally throughout the entire book. There is plenty to keep you reading without getting bored. Although the main issue isn’t solved until like the last 125 pages and wrapped up there, the remaining part of the book still has plenty going on to keep you hooked!

The MFC has been so much starting as just a naive teenager. In a previous book we gather she was kidnapped and stabbed like 18 times but managed to survive. That was wrapped up in a different book but her trauma is carried into this book which was healed with the trust she puts into her pack to protect and love her.

We have 4 MMCs, 2 alphas, 1 omega and 1 beta. They have established relationships by the time our MFC beta comes into their lives. The 2 alphas have major issues they work through but one is a total jerk in the beginning and luckily works through the issue with the help of the new mate and his pack.

Great story and loving this series!

Fantastic read!

I really enjoyed this book in this Sweet Omegaverse romance. Leanne, in the previous book we discovered was actually Secrets mom instead of sister, has decided to move to the Cressidan City to be near her daughter even though it was where she was viciously attacked by a serial killer. Still healing, she is determined to make the best of her situation and find a new job. At the first interview she is only given the job based on being the sole living survivor of the serial killer, but when she goes to the interview at the PI office, she is aggravated so much to just take the first job. What she doesn’t know is that one of the owners did it on purpose to force her to take it since he wants her to spy on that company.

Leanne, still trying to rebuild a relationship with her daughter and her mates, decides to take down the man trafficking women, and she decides to help out the PI group… but she had no idea that by doing that, she would find her own 4 fated mates.

This book was absolutely fantastic, and the plot was soooo awesome. I really loved how dedicated leanne was to taking down the bad guys! I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end!

I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

If you’re looking for a sweet omegaverse romance then Riined Betw by Romy Lockhart is just the one you’re looking for! This is the fifth book in a fabulous series if standalone stories and is quite the emotional jam packed story that will take you on quite a ride of discovery, healing and finding one self through strong bonds and connection. And with a unique twist of a story focusing on a beta this time it’s definitely worth the read!

Our FMC Leanne spent most of her life on the run, trying to escape past pains, until she finally finds a bit of peace working for an investigation agency—even if it’s with alphas. Can she finally let go of past pains and give in to temptations and stop resisting or is she forever doomed to be alone? This is a story full of angst, pain, drama and healing that is a definite must read for anyone that loves a good omegaverse universe. The strength and perseverance that Leanne has, and her ability to overcome so much of her past, was amazing and I truly loved getting to see more into her story and get to know all of her guys.

“I think there was a reason for that. We were all waiting for you. You make us a complete pack, Leanne. We were fumbling around in the dark before you showed up. I’m happier than I’ve ever felt, and it’s because of you.”

This is a standalone and it follows Leanne who is secrets mom who we met in the previous book. Leanne has had a horrible past. But she has moved to be close to Secret. You can’t help but feel sorry for Leanne as she’s been through so much, she applies for two jobs one of which is for detective agency and when she gets there she is attracted to them… E.A the one alpha wants her to go undercover, the pack change their mind when they realise she is their fated mate. But she decides to do it anyway!
Her arrival helps the pack become one!
There is plenty of steam within this book!

I would have liked the epilogue to include her having the baby! But other than that it was a great read.

Reverse harem
Standalone (although better as a series)
Not insta-love but quick-ish given the situation
Multiple POV
HEA

In a previous book we learn that Leanne is not really Secret's sister but actually her mother. This book focuses on Leanne moving to be closer to Secret and her pack in order to be closer to her and make a better bond - she was kidnapped and rescued when on the brink of death in the previous book by her now son-in-laws and therefore is very untrusting in general of alphas.

She moves to a new city that is full of Alphas and she realizes that she needs to get out and find a job. Well she finds herself in an interesting predicament and the rest of the story goes from there. There is a HEA for those that need the happiness at the end to make the book better. Overall a very good book, but it was a bit on the longer side for me and seemed to just drag on a bit in places - but things did have to be set up in order to work out in the end.

This was an interesting story, and I loved that the FMC is a beta. Leanne has not had an easy life and she’s having to start life over, which is never easy. But for Leanne due to her past trauma, it’s even harder. In come a pack with a male omega, a beta, and two alphas. I honestly felt like I could feel the emotions jump off the pages as I was reading it. In this story we definitely feel a bit more of the FMC and what she’s been through and how she goes about obtaining a pack, or them obtaining her.

If you haven’t read the previous books in this world you won’t be “lost” because the information that is missing gets filled in as you read the story. The developing of the relationships between the FMC and MMCs isn’t forced or rushed, it feels like a natural progression instead of just to get a pack together. Since the MMCs are an already established pack, their relationships are stead and the FMC will fit into it.

I’m curious as to what the next book will bring!

So strong!

Ruined Beta might be the title of this book, but Leanne is a survivor. And I love the fact that this RH omegaverse stars a beta.

Leanne was introduced in the last book. That's where we met her daughter Secret and how she got her pack. Leanne moved to the city to try to get to know her daughter better and move past the vicious attack she was a victim of. She doesn't know that this will lead her into an investigation into an alpha that has been trafficking women. Good thing the guys from the PI agency are there to help out. These two alphas, one omega, and one beta just might help her as much as she'll help them.

There were some very dark moments in this story but some very spicy, sweet moments as well. I loved getting to know Leanne after she was introduced in the last book. I'm so happy she got her own book.

The best Beta story ... I've ever read before.

Leanne deserves everything good. She's definitely been through the ringer, made some choices she's not the most happy with and moved on. But she's done so beautifully. Trying to find where she fits with her daughter and her mates. Trying to maneuver the real world once she's decided she wants to be a part of it and then finding her own mates. It's all one big ball of anxiety and definitely some moments where she doesn't feel like she belongs in the life that she's been given.

Once those mates roll in and find out the truth, they roll in like a wrecking ball taking over where they think she needs it. It's definitely one of those stories that leaves you feeling all the warm and fuzzies down to your toes.

Like every other book I've read by Romy, I couldn't put this one down.

A 2nd chance i didn’t know i needed.

Everything about Pack keys was perfect and so so good! E.A and his weird quirks, Spencer and his overbearing self, Echo is such a sweet omega! I love his personality and sweet empathetic nature towards the members his pack! Leanne stepping and being that person that brought out the best within the pack. I’m glad her and EA had their moment to bond! I knew she was she was the for him from the jump. Even her a secrets relationship sprouted into something new and started anew! Breaking down a criminal organization was so cool!saving this women and making sure they got the help they needed was great and I’m glad for this story and how all the characters plot develops throughout the book. I highly recommend! Definitely another 5 star read for me!

Leanne survived being stabbed eighteen time in the chest and abdomen by a serial killer Frank Palmer, and finally telling Secret who she is to Leanne. Leanne has quit drinking and acknowledge she is an alcoholic. Now if you think this is not enough to get you to read this book! There is so much to this book that to even try and tell you about Edgar Aldhard Shultz and what drives him, what he has made his life mission. Even down to why Leanne puts door stops under her doors at night? Leanne finding her fated pack and about each one of them, would ruin the story for you but if you want love, romance, and dangerous plots, this is the book to read. I tell you you will not be able to put it down to see what the next chapter reveals.

Romy gives us a wonderful book to show justice is served!! Leanne's story begins with her moving to the city to be near her daughter and her mates. When she begins job seeking, she takes an interview at a PI agency and immediately realises what they are to her. This begins a wild ride of emotions and events that keep you glued to the story until the very satisfying HEA! Dive in and find out how it all comes together! Beautifully written with complex characters and plot twists that keep you guessing, this story is sure to become a favourite, but please read trigger/contact warnings as it deals with some dark stuff. I loved reading this story and highly recommended it! Don't miss out on this book!!

Leanne has moved to the city to be closer to her daughter Secret and her mates. Its obvious from the start that she needs something for herself as well though and thats when her real journey begins. I loved her uncertainty about herself and her relationships, becoming confidence when dealing with her new pack. The pack dynamics and multi POV made this a big book, but it was so hard to put down, you dont even notice the length. Theres plenty of steam between the pack, and none of them are left out. The human trafficking sub plot - the details are brief about what happens to most of the women, the focus here is more the investigations to bring the ring down. I can just see this pack making big differences in future cases, they all work so well together!

Fated…

I’ve been looking forward to Leann’s story. We met her in Secrets book as her sister which we learn more about that relationship by the end.
Leann has moved to the city to be closer to Secret so they can build on their new relationship.

First thing for Leann is to find a job and that’s where she meets her fated mates. She also gets pulled into a plot to bring down traffickers that has ties to one of her mates. Spencer, Echo, Toshi and EA are part of a private investigation team that hires Leann.

The story mainly focuses on Leann being claimed by her mates and wanting to start a family as soon as possible because of her age. The trafficking plot gets closure towards the end of the book.

I would have liked to have read more about their future in an epilogue.

This was another fantastic read by Romy Lockhart. I have come to appreciate the way she tells an omegaverse story, with diverse characters, great world building and enough mystery, drama and steam to keep you wholly entertained to the last page. I enjoyed getting to know Leanne and the men she lets into her life. The story is engaging, not overly stressful and anxiety inducing, but definitely intriguing enough to keep you engaged. The characters are well done, this is something I also have come to appreciate from this authour. I enjoyed the storyline, the plot is solid, the pace and flow overall was comfortable , this was easy to follow along and overall a great read. I am looking forward to whatever we are treated with next!

What an amazing read!! This book gave you all the feels you couldn't help but laugh and cry right along with the characters. There's a lot of intertwining storyline and plots in this. So if you didn't read the previous books which I totally recommend that you do because there amazing as well. It's all good though!! You should still be able to follow along without any confusion. Any overlapping areas were explained. Overall a great read. I loved how the story unfolded. Looking forward to more stories in this Omegaverse. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily. No monetary compensation was received. The opinions I have expressed are completely my own.

I really enjoyed Leanne being so strong - she clearly had a very traumatic experience and she used that trauma to help others in bad situations. Watching the healing process for her and Secret was really one of the best parts of the book. Similarly, my other favorite part of the book was EA and Spencer's relationship. I feel like this book focused a lot on mending wounds and forging better and stronger connections. These two relationships that I highlighted really demonstrate that beautifully. I think the focus on the beta as a part of society that can experience everything that omegas can was also really wonderful.

Perfect!!!

OMG!!! When we first heard about the "secret" in Secret Omega I was so hoping Leanne would get her own book!!!!
It was well worth the wait!!!
It had all the feels for me!!
E ho, E A, Toshi, and Spencer were not the perfect pack they had their issues but that made them perfect for her!!!
And now she's gotta help them stop well known trafficker that has eluded police for years!!! Can she fool this guy into thinking she just wants a job when she is really undercover?!?
It is Amazing and emotional!!! We get to see Secret and Leanne connect and it is such a great read that I need to read it again... More slowly this time in case I missed anything!! Lol

Amazing

This is the fifth book Romy Lockhart has given us in this Sweet Omegaverse series and this time we get the story of a beta, Leanne. This is an emotional ride focused on healing, communication and building stronger bonds. Not only do we see the with everyone in Leanne's pack but between Leanne and her daughter, Secret, who was the focus of the first standalone in this series. I love how strong Leanne is despite having been through so much in her past and I live how unique all her guys are. I love that the story is good in multiple POV's. I can't wait for the next book in this series

This is a story filled with love, found family, justice, and so much more!

Leanne is a Beta who's not had an easy life and is trying to start over with her daughter and her daughters mates. However, due to past trauma, this hasn't been so easy to do!

Insert one male omega, a beta, and two alphas who change things up and who become so much more than she could imagine!

I love all of Romys stories but, this one felt special! It was written so well that I felt like I was experiencing the emotions the FMC was feeling along the way too!

I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series!

Although this book is part of a series, it is a standalone and can easily be read without first reading the other books. This is a sweet omegaverse, but it this one focuses on a beta named Leanne. I love that we get to seen this world through her perspective. Having survived and serial killer and struggling to reconnect with her daughter, Secret, Leanne moves to the big city and stumbles upon her mates while trying to find a job. Thus begins an interesting tale of mystery as they try to solve a huge case, and the blossoming bond between herself, her two alphas, a fellow beta, and their Omega.
