This cookbook was given to me by my Mom over 30 years ago. Yesterday my Dad brought me some tomatoes freshly picked from his garden. So I found myself pulling out this old and heavy cookbook from the shelf. It has a tried and true recipe for, "Golden Tomato Soup" that I always find myself making around this time of year when tomatoes are so fresh and abundant. I thought it was about time I reviewed this cherished cookbook.

This cookbook was originally published in 1992 and has gold-etched edges. It has over 600 pages of recipes galore and each recipe has a beautiful picture to go with it. The instructions for each recipe are easy to follow and there is much detail in the specialty sections. The many sections contain award-winning recipes for easy 30 minute dinners, breakfasts, desserts and more elaborate dinners. There's also an extensive section on Italian and Chinese cuisine varying from easy to hard.

Throughout the years I've made many of these recipes but the soups still remain one of my most favourites. A family favourite is the, "Minestrone Soup" as it's a very hearty version and perfect for the upcoming Fall nights. The, "Golden Tomato Soup" and "Seafood Bisque" are also other favourites that I've made over and over again.

This is not only a cherished cookbook but it's a really good one too.
