Evangeline Kelly is the pen name I use to write contemporary Christian romance books. When I was a kid, I had two dreams. One was to work with at risk youth and the other was to write books. After pursuing my passion of working with foster children for over twenty years, I finally decided to pursue my childhood dream of writing.
I love a good book that draws you in and takes hold of your heart. When I write, I hope to show real life situations people go through and how God uses those situations to draw us closer to Himself.
I’ve witnessed suffering in my line of work, but I’ve also witnessed God’s redeeming love. A good Christian romance features both hardship and delight. My hope is that my stories not only entertain, but encourage, and most of all, that they bring glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Engaged to an Alaskan Man is a delightful story about Finn, widower, father of baby Cara, and fruit farmer in Alaska. Finn's friend Jasmine decided to move from Alaska to Arizona. Jasmine's new friend is Annie, widow who works as a nanny in Arizona. Jasmine has this idea to match Finn with Annie. She tells Annie that she has lost all of her family so why not give it a try. So Finn starts emailing Annie and from there they tried video chatting then Finn went to Arizona for the weekend. Then Annie comes to Alaska for 2 weeks to see Alaska and meet Finn's family. Problems with his sister cause him to seek other childcare. Who better than to hire Annie? Will she decide to leave Arizona for Alaska, from a warm climate to a cold climate?
I liked Finn, a widower raising his friends’ daughter Cara. He has an overstepping sister (to say the least, she obviously has some psychological issues around Cara). I thought Annie was a good match for Finn. She is a widow, though has trust issues since her husband cheated on her. Annie and Finn were married to their high school sweethearts and are both widowed young. Even the long distance (he’s Alaska, she’s Arizona) seems workable. The catch is his sister. Recommend. Christian.
Engaged to an Alaskan Man is a clean, heartwarming, second chance romance for Annie and Finn. This well crafted romance caught my attention from the beginning and I read it in a single afternoon. I am glad that Finn's sister got the help she needed and the mutual friend got her head back where it needed to be. I enjoyed watching Finn and Annie fall in love. I loved these characters and enjoyed my time in Alaska!
Can a man from Alaska and a woman from Arizona turn a potential marriage of convenience to a forever kind of love? Seeing Finn and Annie get to know each other from emails, video chats and then visits was so exciting. There are some hard subjects and secrets that needed to be discussed and accepted as well as one or two obstacles to overcome. I really enjoy going back to Alaska in this series. The author does an amazing job of making me feel like I am right there with her characters.
*Such* a cute read. I always love this author’s books, and appreciate the strong Christian themes, and the fact everything moves quickly, due both to the length of each story and also because the characters actually communicate with one another🤩 I loved the cute moments with Annie and Finn, and also enjoyed the bit of tension that rose around them and gave the story more layers. Quick and easy, with a pinch of depth!
Finn and Annie's story is a sweet story of a 2nd chance at love. Finn is a widower who is raising his best friends' daughter, after their untimely death. Annie is a widow who has her own obstacles to overcome. This isn't your typical boy meets girl story, which makes it wonderful. I love the setting of Alaska too. There is wonderful healing in this story.
Warm, sweet, charming story! Single dad – check Matchmaking – check Long distance relationship – check Sparks fly in this romantic adventure! I received an ARC of this book for review. I was not required to write a favorable review. All opinions in this review are my own.
Lovely romance with widowed Finn who is raising his friends infant daughter and Annie who is also widowed. They are a unlikely pair with him from Alaska and she is from Arizona but they are drawn to each other and the sweet baby Cara does help draw them together.
