Everyone in Bell Harbor thinks career-minded plastic surgeon Evelyn Rhoades needs a husband. Everyone, that is, except for Evelyn…sort of. Even if she did want a husband (which she doesn’t…most of the time), she’d never let something as intangible as fate determine who she marries. No, if she’s going to find someone to spend her life with, she’ll do it scientifically: with

Evelyn Rhoades aka Evie is a 35 yr. old single woman. She recently moved to a small town called Bell Harbor, where she works as a plastic surgeon. Evie is the newest Dr. in town, and spends most of her time working. She has always been a more serious person, who isn't carefree. She moves to Bell Harbor to be close to her best friend & colleague Hilary, and also to try to slow down a little, and enjoy the peaceful small town lifestyle.

I was really into this book until I got about 70% through and started to think... Where is this story going? Evelyn is a doctor in her mid thirties who becomes attracted to one of her patients (Tyler) that is eight years younger than her, and is a "wild-child". She wants to be with him but is torn by their low and high class status'. I honestly just could not connect with Evelyn at all.. I don't feel like Tracy took enough time really evolving her character or even the relationship between ...more
When Evelyn turns 35 she smashes right into the ticking time bomb that is her womb. With the help of her two closest friends and aided by a list of attributes the perfect guy should have she embarks on a quest to find the perfect husband. But her first few dates are almost enough to turn her lesbian.

When Tyler lands in the Emergency Department after an accident on a stolen Jet-ski she feels an immediate twinge in the pants department...but on her perfect match meter he rates an absolute zero.

4.5 STARS.
Funny and definitely a stress buster book! The title says it all. It's a light read and a great change from all the hard, complicated stories I've read so far.

I was all smiles and laughs because of the characters and the point of view of the heroine is a winner. I loved Dr. Evie Rhoades witty expressions and comebacks.

A story about a beautiful and smart mid-thirty plastic surgeon who was looking or I might say, getting ready for Marriage or husband-to be because of all the pressures
3.5 stars. A light and totally predictable listen about a female doctor in her mid-thirties who falls for a younger guy who isn't up to her strict standards for marriage material. Second book in the Bell Harbor series, but works as a standalone. Enjoyable small town setting with a host of quirky characters. Fluffy, fun, feel-good chic-lit.

Another predictable, too-good-to-be-true hero, but as I've said before... "What's wrong with that?" If I want reality, I can walk outside. :)

Once again, I laughed constantly. I literally had to put my hand over my mouth to hold back my chuckles, as people started staring at me.

I will say I liked the heroine in this story more than the first Bell Harbor novel, but if you like laugh-out-loud chick-lit, I'd recommend that you read both, especially since several of the characters from Book One make

3.5 - Penis Colada & Strawberry Dickery.” Stars!

I really do have to commend Tracy Brogan on putting a good story together. The Best Medicine is the second book in the Bell Harbour Series, and in the main I enjoyed this book as much as I did book 1 – Crazy Little Thing.

As with any series set in a town it is always enjoyable to see the return of characters from the previous books. I loved Dody and Fontaine from Crazy Little Thing so it was great to catch up with them as well as Des, Sadie

Awww... What a sweet book. I absolutely adore Tracy Brogan's sense of humor. I'm looking forward to reading lots more of her books. Thanks for the recommendation Karen Fleming! This was a great way to start off the New Year. ;-)

I adored this book!Eve was so funny..I caught myself laughing out loud with the witty humour of the author. It felt a bit rushed to me at the end but it was still a great read!

Received an ARC courtesy of the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Tracy Brogan novel I've ever read and I can honestly say I haven't felt this way about an author since Emily Hemmer. Okay, that sounded creepy. Not a stalker, ladies, I promise! I'm just so excited to have found a book that can snag me emotionally while making me laugh out

Evelyn Rhoades believes that important decisions in life should be approached scientifically. When her friends talk her into joining an Internet dating site, it’s only natural for her to construct a list of requirements for potential dates. After all, as a plastic surgeon she’s used to prioritizing things in order of importance. Why should this be any different?

Things change when she gets called to do a consult for a sexy, young patient named Tyler. Just the sight of him makes blood rush to

THE BEST MEDICINE (A Bell Harbor Series) by Tracy Brogan
Another hilarious romantic comedy by Tracy Brogan for my collection! Tyler is not only going to have you swooning, but he'll definitely win your heart. What a hero! I also loved Dr. Evelyn Rhoades or Evie, which I prefer calling her, who is quite funny, but she doesn't know it.
Even though THE BEST MEDICINE is book 2 of the Bell Harbor Series, you can still enjoy it without having read first CRAZY LITTLE THING- Book 1. But, I highly

I freely admit that I am more of a fan of historical romance than contemporary romance. However, this book was perfection. I really loved the character development by the author. She made each character seem like someone I wanted to meet in real life. The range of emotions I felt while reading this book was surprising. I frequently laughed out loud at the witty humor of the author. My eyes filled with tears at the difficult life situations of the main characters, Evelyn Rhoades and Tyler ...more

I received an early copy of this as a gift and was so happy to be able to read it a little early. Once again, Tracy Brogan has made me fall in love with Bell Harbor and its inhabitants. Poor Evie turns 35 and kind of gets hit over the head with both the well-meaning folks in her new small town and her mother too. "When are you gonna find a husband?" Enter Tyler, who looks perfect in person but not so much on paper and the story goes from there. There were so many parts that were laugh-out-loud ...more

I really enjoyed the second in the series by Tracy Brogan. The characters, especially Evelyn and Tyler. Talk about two people who have very little in common (Evelyn's a doctor; Tyler's seems like a n'er do well when you first meet him), then the storyline takes us away through some very interesting moments. The story's great and all the characters are easy to like.

Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I absolutely adored this book! It felt a bit rushed to me at the end but it was still a great read! It had all the aspects I've come to expect from Ms Brogan! I found myself laughing out loud at times and on the verge of tears at others! A great fun read that youre sure to love!

Tracy Brogan's writing style reminds me so much of Kristan Higgans, so if you're a fan of Ms Higgans, be sure to check out this author!!!!

I was lucky enough to read the uncorrected proof of this book. Tracy Brogan has been one of my favorites authors since her first book: "Crazy Little Thing". This one is just as good. I laughed, cried and stayed up til the wee hours of the morning reading, because it's simply THAT great. It's a MUST read. Thank you, Tracy!

DNF’d. Made it through chapter four and had to stop. Not my cup of tea. Frustratingly stereotypical and rather insulting. I like romance stories, but not one set up this way.

Evie, a successful professional woman is being bombarded with messages from her friends and family that she’s somehow incomplete (or even a failure) because she isn’t married or doesn’t have a beau at age 35. And worse, she seems to buy into this nonsense. Now enter the hot male love interest who by accounts is a hot mess

This was my second Tracy Brogan novel, and it was enjoyable. Interesting premise, sharp dialogue, and likable characters. PG intimacy between Evie and Tyler and a lack of depth to their relationship made the couple seem to lack spark. For example, the sick scene had lots of potential, but never really launched. The sex toy party at Delle's house was hilarious! Overall, a well written breezy romp.

I absolutely loved everything about this book! From page 1 to page 310 I was hooked. I was so sad for this book to end, I would love to see what next for Evie & Tyler....
Glitter-bombed by work colleagues in a surprise celebration of her birthday, plastic surgeon Evelyn Rhoades is unhappily reminded that she is now 35, single, and her biological clock is ticking. Having always been focused on her career, Evelyn suddenly finds herself the target of attention from well-meaning work colleagues and friends to begin the next phase in her life – finding a husband. Of course, it doesn’t help matters that Evelyn’s parents have never been a good example of marriage. As ...more

You just never know what you are getting into when you request an ARC for a "new to you" author. In this particular case, I truly stumbled across a gem because I am now a full-fledged Tracy Brogan fan. Her classical writing style is easy to read and "The Best Medicine" is the perfect combination of emotion, liveliness, humor and romance.

My rating: 4 of 5

Plastic surgeon, Dr. Evelyn Rhoades, has not been in Bell Harbor long before small town living is catching up with her. Recently having celebrated her thirty-fifth birthday, her friends and colleagues seem to have decided to help her stay ahead of her rapidly declining years, by way of finding her a man. Granted, she has been a tad pre-occupied with her career thus far, but she hasn't had the shiniest of examples from back home either. Not completely adverse to the idea of

The best thing that I loved about this book was Tyler there are no words for that sexy beast, "Tyler put the plates on the table and came around behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Yep," he said, kissing the side of my neck." I mean the boy just has smooth moves, "his laughter was another warm caress. "Then you'll have to put on a bra, because, trust me, your chest is pretty distracting too." I mean when Evelyn and Tyler are together they're something else and Tyler is really ...more

The Best Medicine is a light, feel good read that will have you laughing out loud throughout the entire book. When Dr. Evelyn Rhoades decides its time to find 'the one', she goes about it like she does everything else...scientifically. After carefully composing her list of requirements for her perfect husband, she decides to try online dating to weed out all the Mr. Wrong's. She is 35 years old and her biological clock doesn't have time for meeting her future husband the good old fashioned way. ...more

OK, so I LOVE Tracy Brogan. I've pre-ordered this book some time ago (I think right after I finished reading Crazy Little Thing (Bell Harbor, #1) by Tracy Brogan ) and I have waited rather impatiently to be delivered to my Kindle.

Today was the day. I started reading in sometime in the afternoon and I couldn't do anything else today. I didn't even eat until 10pm, just to finish it. At some point i realized it's going to end, so I read it slowly, just to enjoy it longer. :)

4.5. Disclaimer: I received a free copy for a fair review. The Best Medicine is a perfect romantic summer read. Tracy Brogan has a great feel for contemporary character and dialogue. While light and frequently funny, she also deals with a very contemporary issue: what does a highly educated and successful woman do when she falls for a guy who is wonderful, but doesn't match her expectations/achievements. How does it feel for both people when the woman is older, richer, and better educated? ...more

I'm gonna go with 2.5 on this one. I liked parts of it a lot, but there were things I just couldn't quite get over. I didn't feel like the main character was very well-developed. I had a hard time feeling much for her.

It also bugged me that they tried to justify the way she started dating a patient by saying he'd switch doctors (picking up dates in the ER is a no-no). I also really didn't like the way ALL the staff at the office AND the ER acted like the patients were eye candy. It made me not
The Best Medicine is a break from some serious books I like to read to learn and gain information. It is a break from the lull of life. Dream a little and enjoy and come back from these simple pleasures to reality. It is a light read with lots of humor throughout.

Dr Evie Rhoades is 35 and has a list of reqirements for the perfect husband. That alone is funny. Up comes Tyler Connelly a patient in emergency after a drunken accident. He is perfect in her eyes--- especially his muscles and the rest
