I love it when a book delivers on what was promised. Everything has been building ti this the fight between Link and Ganondorf.

Every lesson, technique, friend, and power Link has gained will be needed to push Link to victory. However, Ganondorf has never been more powerful himself even with everything Link has learned and gained. Will it be enough?

This book delivers the on the violence, not much text or story. This is the final battle. This is what the series has built to. I love it.

My review is on this version since the English copy isn't available for me to review yet here. Oh. My. Gosh.
Ganondorf's dead? Nope! Now? Nope! Now? Nope, even though Link stabbed him. Now? Yeah, he killed himself so he could come back to life one day. The whole thing with the Hero of Time calling Link his son? 😭😭😭 I love how the last moments with Midna played out, even though I'm standing firm on Team Zelda. If you need a refresher, Link wants to come with her to the Twilight Realm. In response, she calls him "Disobedient and rude," slaps him, kisses him, and then destroys the mirror so the Twilight Realm and the World of Light can never meet again. I know this may sound weird if you haven't read the rest of the series, but this moment was absolutely incredible. Still on Team Zelda, though. Then we get an amazing ending where we see King Bublin is dead, (No, Bublin! The evil bokoblin turned good, R.I.P.) Shad is sad about Ilia going back to Ordon so he goes and sees her, Colin and Talo are friends, we get to see Lili's baby as Rusl says Link will come back some day, we see Zelda in the garden where she first met Midna as a kid, Darpa, Rioma, Zeu, and Ashei all still alive (Yay!) and Link returns the Master Sword to the forest and sees the Hero of Time's wolf form once more, howling, before it ends. WOW. All in all, 100 star series out of 5. Amazing themes about finding one's self, discrimination towards others, and the need for love and happiness. It even goes over one of the main themes in the Legend of Zelda: success is temporary. A refreshing story for those who can't find one, and are in need of heavier story from the Legend of Zelda series. All that's left for me is to hope Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom gets manga.

I've finally finished!!! I didn't want to comment too much on each individual installment, so here are my (uninteresting) thoughts on the whole series in no particular order:

1) I'm not a huge graphic novel/manga person because I usually feel like I can't ever get enough out of it? I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm happy I was able to read this whole series basically back to back over the course of a couple months instead of as they were being released (which took seven years!!) It felt like I could keep momentum between volumes instead of grinding to a halt after like 1 hour of reading.

2) I have to give the highest praise possible to A. Honda and S. Nagano for their wonderful artwork, which is so dynamic and expressive. After 24 years of doing the Zelda manga, they have truly mastered drawing Link! I feel like this series could have taken me so much longer if I let myself continue staring at him lol.

3) I liked the scene (in I forget which volume) where Link is walking in the footsteps of the Hero of Time to collect the master sword. I felt the drama! Twilight Princess is a very cinematic game and I felt like that was often achieved....

4) Building off of the last point: I enjoyed the more direct references to OoT plot and how it weaves into this story. It made Ganondorf's dark ambition feel more believable and allowed for more thoughtful presentation of the themes of destiny and duty, which appear in nearly all LoZ titles.

5) I liked most of the diversions that were taken from the established game plot. It was nice to be surprised along the way! I give kudos to the risks that were taken, even if that included a Shad x Ilia romance (ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! he always annoyed me for some reason.)

6) Like in the actual game, I did feel like the messaging of the light vs dark (twilight as something else??) was a bit muddy? ** I need to ponder this more...

7) Additionally, the story suffers a tiny bit by being (somewhat) bound to the search-and-find classic Zelda structure. You don't really think too much about it in the game so I appreciated the attempts to shake up story of each dungeon.

8) Link punched Zant in the face

Okay final thoughts: so much fun to return to this story and experience something familiar it in a new way. I would def recommend to Zelda fans! This is the meatiest manga adaptation yet and I would be thrilled if we got something similar for SS or BOTW <3

In conclusion:

why was this never brought up again

**I just tried to explain myself and only got more confused - see Emma in person for more jumbled thoughts about this

I started reading the Twilight Princess manga specifically because i do not have the attention span to complete the 36 hour video game despite loving the parts i experienced.

I sat down and tackled this whole manga in about 6 hours. I did not expect much being a video game adaptation but it was clear after the first few volumes that there was a lot of creative liberty taken within. The writing progressively got more interesting and the characters were extremely memorable and lovable. The art was not too generic as well, all in all it was really impressive to me.

I would recommend this manga to fans of Zelda or fans of dark fantasy. Having the Zelda context would definitely make this manga feel fuller but otherwise it still is a great medieval and fantasy story. Oddly in the early volumes it very much so parallels Berserk in many ways but as the story unfolds it becomes its own.

I’m so happy i sat down and read this :)

Even though I haven't played the game, I can tell that I'm completely lost in the story. I thoroughly enjoyed each chapter and never once felt bored. I adored Link's character growth and how, with every battle, his fighting skills improved. To propel Link toward victory, all of the knowledge, skills, allies, and strength he has amassed will be necessary. I have to admit that I was surprised by Link and Midna's kiss. I am not dissatisfied at all because I considered them to be good friends from the beginning of their adventure. The manner in which she smacked him and then kissed him. Just astounding.

This quote will live in my heart rent free, such a beautiful battle and end to the series.

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect!!🌟
It was so nostalgic reading these mangas. I have always had a fondness for the Zelda video game series, twilight princess specifically. I loved this video game as a child. I was hoping these would be just as good as the game. And these mangas went beyond what I hoped for! ❤️

There it is, the eleventh and final volume of Twilight Princess. It continues right with the final fight against Ganon that already started in the last volume. For some reasons though, I didn’t enjoy this volume as much as the last volume, so I “only” gave four stars. Still, it has many elements that I loved throughout the whole series, like the amazing atmosphere or the epic and well-drawn action sequences. Knowing the game, I obviously knew what would happen at the end, but it was still such a great and sad moment.

The art is beautiful as always, but the lines are not so fine this time which bothered me a bit. Like the art, I like the characters quite a lot, especially Zelda from this era that isn’t just passive, and Ganon as a great villain. Zelda’s and Midna’s friendship is so great as well and was so cute when they met.

The manga adaptation of Twilight Princess has accompanied me now for seven years (time is going by so fast), and it’s so nice to get a closure now. I’m still a bit salty that this game got eleven volumes, while Ocarina of Time just got two volumes and Majora’s Mask only one! Still, it was a great journey, even though it could’ve probably been one or two volumes shorter. I barely remember anything from the first volumes, so perhaps I need to revisit the whole series at some point.

Merci 🥺

5/5
Incroyable fin 🌻

Well, I suppose I’m satisfied. Not happy, not moved - just satisfied. Overall, I’d say this volume is filled with lots of little good moments, but they’re tied together in such a way that feels unnatural, corny, and unchanging (by that I mean, the emotion through the entire volume was the same - no changes, no ebbing or flowing, just a steady stream of one thing).

It was a good enough ending, though. It didn’t hit me as effectively as the game did, but I went into this volume just wanting the series to be done with. It dragged on too long. It’s possible that the whole Manga would read better if I read all 11 volumes back to back; reading one a year (roughly) kinda killed the moods. Maybe I’ll try that someday, but for now, I’m just glad it’s finally done.

Destiny spelled in blood

After the brutal defeat of Ganondorf in his beast form the final conflict is upon us as Link must face his destined foe once more in a new realm with the help of Zelda and those who are able to make it to the final conflict in this war. Full of action this is not a very long read though there are moments of clarity from Link and after the final blow (once more) we get a chance to see how Hyrule is affected without the evil influence of Ganondorf to cloud over them.

As you might notice on the cover and probably assumed would happen by the end of the series Midna returns at last to her true form without Ganondorf's influence and although sacrifices have been made and are still made even after the tyrants defeat the ending turned out pretty nice. Certainly there has been a bit of artistic licensing to adapt the original game into this series and it was longer then I expected but I still enjoyed it in the end. :)

The only real complaint I might have is the occasional depiction of Ganondorf that reminded me of John Romita Jr's art style from, I believe, the 90's X-men books which is not one of my favorite art styles with their dark shadows and occasionally blank eyes. I am pretty sure Ganondorf has pupils at the beginning of Chapter 55 but his iris color are a very light grey in the black and white manga style so it is easy to wonder why his eyes are blank at times. :)

This series, was so DAMN GOOD! It’s been honestly a while since I was so passionate about a manga or book series and I’m so happy to have read these all. With a perfectly done climax and resolution with tons and tons of development for both Zelda, Link and Midna all in this volume but over all as well, I am really honestly impressed. It’s my hope one day, that this mangaka decided to pursuit “Skyward Sword” as it’s just perfect for this type of storytelling.

Where do I even begin? As someone who has loved Twlight Princess since childhood, this manga was such a love letter to the game and it's fans.

I absolutely love how this series expanded on locations & side characters that didn't get much attention in the game (Luda, Ilia, Ashei, Shad, etc), and more importantly adored the inclusion of Zelda and Midna's friendship, however short it was. I mentioned Akina in another review and how her inclusion made the consequences of Zant's actions seem so much more real and tragic, and I still think its true after finishing the series. Akina's addition as well as introducing Link's childhood friends/home bring a great depth to this world that in game is unable to be explored and can only be inferred by the player. Here the impact is impossible to ignore. This manga made me feel much more connected to a world I've known for many years, and though technically these books aren't "canon" I still feel like I came out of it knowing this Hyrule better.

This world felt so full of community too (which I feel like a lot of Zelda games lack) , as it's not just Link and Midna fighting to hold back Zant and Ganondorf, but its literally everyone in Hyrule. Obviously this series isn't flawless, and since it follows the general story we are given our bittersweet ending; but its absolutely worth it to see the growth and bonds these characters were able to create on the journey. Long story short I need to replay Twilight Princess lol💃

Great ending, the battle had an exciting twist that I hadn't expected. It included wonderful callbacks to Ocarina of Time and I felt like that final goodbye was done justice. Truly happy this became a manga.

A solid series, lacking SOMETHING but I can’t quite grasp it.
Otherwise though, very beautiful drawings, generally comprehensive action considering the sword fights were more frequent and abundant than I’d expect of a manga.
Maybe it focused too much on Link’s inner feeling rather than his drive and an over-encompassing message?
Either way, worth a read if you like Zelda.

And with that the twilight Princess manga comes to a close. I read the previous volume the other day and wrapped this volume up in one go so it’s all still pretty fresh. I will say I started this comic back in 2021-2022? I can’t remember. Anyways it has been a while in between volumes so not everything hit for me. Maybe I’ll reread the series in a marathon one day! I do want to reread it, it was such a good series. As much as I loved the final volume… it did feel very quick? The battle kinda dragged on, and while it was awesome to see Link’s arc conclude, long battle scenes aren’t really my thing. Plus once the battle ends the conclusions pretty quick. Though I do love how Midna and Link’s arc came to a close and seeing their relationship develop.

Light spoilers ahead

I guess there’s a hint of romance? Ig not even hint, is Midlink canon now? I mean now that I’ve sat on it Midlink is cute, I don’t think I ever shipped it when I was reading. I always saw them as good friends not really lovers? Idk the cheek kiss in the last volume was cute cuz they just felt like cute friends, but a full kiss? I mean sure I guess. I just kinda don’t like the last minute “oh I loved you hehe bye”. I guess now the battles over Midna finally realized her feelings for Link. But yeah it kinda just happened feels thrown on, if you removed the kiss it wouldn’t change much really. Idk. I wish there was more.

Okay also the ending. Felt very quick? Once Midna showed her true form it all felt so quick, like okay bye Link kissy mwah bye. Idk with how amazing their arc had been till this moment idk, i want just a bit more. Maybe I too was like Link and didn't want her to leave lol. But then there's the last pages, showing what's going on back home now that the battle's over.I feel like I need another chapter or at least a little epilogue. That’s it? Where is Link going? I’m confused. Ig it’s like they’re going off on an adventure of their own idk. Someone tell me.
I just think that the last two volumes were full of such high highs that the ending had to match that amazing high you know.

Minor nitpicks because I really loved these last two volumes, they were chock full of beautiful character moments and awesome action. This is what I want in an action comic, and defiantly want I want in a Zelda comic!

I’m gonna miss TP Link and Midna in comic form tbh. I’ll probably read the rest of the Zelda comics now that I’m done with this one.
Goodbye twilight Princess and thanks for the memories.

The ending broke my heart! Ugh. I understand why but oh it hurt. I liked the tiny insight into Zelda's relationship with past Link. And finally a tiny bit of closure between Link and Midna! Just made me sad that no one got a happily ever after (romance-wise), although hopefully Ilia can come around to Shad.

I kept going back to the spread in the middle where Zelda has a very short encounter with the Hero of Time. In just two pages, the authors conveyed an entire story that I want to read more of! With Zelda apparently having recovered memories from her past self, it appears that she at the least misses her friend the Hero of Time, but their embrace seemed more familiar than that to me (but that's just me). I would love to know more about what exactly the authors are trying to imply there. Ugh! I'm going to be thinking about this for a while.
