I'm from the South, so most of these recipes make me feel like I'm sitting at my great-grandmother's house on a hot summer day - iced sweet tea, peanut butter cookies, fruit ambrosia, pecan pie, fried green tomatoes and many more.
I love the division of recipes by season, rather than type of food, because we really do find that we eat different foods at different times of the year. Years ago it was more noticeable as most of the foods prepared were based on what grew in the garden.
The typesetting and images are very nice making this book a great coffee table book, as well.

It's no secret that I'm in love with Southern Style cooking. Truly, the flavours that come from this way of life (yes, it is a way of life), are quite simply mouth watering.
Southern cooking thumbs it's nose at the "healthy trends" in cooking and goes full force for flavour, because really, if you're going to make something special... then make it really special!
