A good start to a series, a bit scene jumpy in a few spots, but that could be summed to to world building.

This review is for both volume 1 and 2 of the series.

This book is a prequel to the anime series Otogi Zoshi yet does not fit with the anime's established characterization or plot motives. By itself, it is a decent manga with good artwork and an easy to follow plot that fits together and makes decent sense. But as a tie-in with the anime it is a horrible let down.

I do not recommend this if you have not watched the anime but plan to.
