If I had to choose a person to hate, Alex Ramírez would’ve been first on the list…
Welcome to Honey Creek, Illinois, where life was as sweet as the town’s name suggested. That was, until Mr. Fine Dining himself, Alex Ramírez, rolled into town with a permanent scowl. Even worse, he decided to park his snooty five-star restaurant across from my cozy dog daycare. He was tall, dark, and about as warm as a frozen entrée.
After one too many unpleasant interactions, I was determined to stay out of his way and to keep him out of mine.
But fate had a quirky sense of humor. When Alex inherited his great-aunt’s cranky canine, he had no choice but to come to me, the local dog whisperer, for help. As for me? I needed a fake boyfriend to ward off my ex-husband, who was determined to win me back.
So, we struck a deal: I’d turn his dog into the town's best-behaved pet, and in return, he’d be my arm candy for a few family events and social gatherings. Simple, uncomplicated, and absolutely not romantic—at least, that was what we told ourselves.
As we played house, I couldn't help but notice that underneath Alex’s prickly shell was a dash of charm that wasn't listed in the ingredients. Our pretend dates started to feel a little too real. And our feigned kisses? They were getting laughably close to crossing the line. Suddenly, our interactions felt less like a food fight and more like foreplay.
With every playful touch and lingering glance, I couldn't help but wonder: Was this fake relationship with Alex secretly penning its own authentic ending? Or was I risking it all for someone who was nothing more than make-believe?

This book was just what my heart needed. So sweet, charming, and the perfect feel good small town romance.
Honey Creek, Illinois reminded me of the town of Serenity (if you’ve seen Sweet Magnolias you know what I mean). The kind of town where everyone knows everyone and people look out for their neighbors. That hasn’t been the welcome that Alex Ramirez got when he came to town to open a new restaurant. Though his bad attitude didn’t help anything either…
Yara Kingsley is such a sweetheart and does everything she can to make Alex feel welcome but these two butt heads. She decides after a few bad interactions that they are not meant to be friends. Then something happens and changes between them.
Alex is the grumpy to Yara sunshine. They work so well together. Yara’s ex-husband is the town chief and dating has been impossible for her so they come up with a plan. Yara and Alex fake date so people around town see her dating and maybe they will start being more welcome to him. Plus, he could use a date to his best friend’s wedding (best friend is marrying his ex-girlfriend’s sister).
You know my favorite part about fake dating is watching the couple realize it’s not fake at all. Sigh. I also loved the banter between these two. This one would make for a perfect rom-com on the big screen. I’m so happy we’ll get more time in Honey Creek and I can’t wait to read Yara’s sister’s books.
If you’re looking for a grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, enemies to lovers small town romance this is the book for you. It was a lot of fun and kept me smiling from cover to cover. This was a bit different than some of Brittainy’s other books, but still had that special touch of hers written all over it.

This author always wraps me up in a warm blanket of feels!! Welcome to the small town called Honey Creek in Illinois.
Throw in the small town vibes, from the gossip, to the quantness of the place, to a town hanging onto its old traditions, to the ex who just won't let go, and three sisters who will capture your hearts, this definitely has me wanting more.
This drew me in as soon as I started, and I couldn't put it down, I loved these two, the grump and the sunshine, the love hate they felt towards each other, the barbs thrown towards the other, where opposites attract.
Yara is a happy go lucky kind of girl, with a happy bubbly personality to match, some would even go so far as to call her the dog whisperer given that she runs a successful doggy daycare establishment.
Alex is the owner of four extremely successful five-star restaurants two holding Michelin stars, where his meals are outstanding his demeanour is lacking. He's standoffish, he's rude, and doesn't form attachments.
Sometimes their over the top hissy fits came across like two toddlers going through the terrible twos who needed time out, instead of the successful business owners they were, considering their subsequent ages, I think in this case less is best, just a few barbs I probably would've given it a higher rating, it didn't really gel with her happy go lucky personality, other than that I really enjoyed this book.

This was really slow and took forever to get through. There was nothing that really kept me interested. The storyline was boring, it took way too long for the main characters to start truly interacting and all the characters felt bland to me. They also felt a little immature at times for two people over thirty. Plus there were some ott “bad” characters that made me roll my eyes at times. This was not the book for me.

Brittainy ist meiner Meinung die unangefochtene Queen der Emotionen. In einem Moment hast du Tränen in den Augen, weil sie dir das Herz zerreißt und im nächsten Moment wandeln sich die gleichen Tränen, in Tränen des Glücks. Wie schafft sie das nur immer und immer wieder? 🥹

Daraus ergibt sich eine super humorvolle Fake-Dating Situation mit echt lustigen Dialogen.

je n'ai pas vraiment eu l'impression de lire du BCC...
je m'explique, si vous me connaissez vous savez que Brittainy est mon autrice préférée, j'ai lu tous ses livres (sauf 2 pas traduits) je la trouve incroyable dans sa manière d'aborder des sujets profonds d'une manière si efficace et touchante, je l'aime pour sa facilité à briser et reconstruire mon cœur dans chacune de ses histoires si dure mais pourtant si proche de la réalité. j'aime la manière avec laquelle elle nous fait souffrir tout en nous faisant nous sentir tellement moins seuls avec nos maux.
bref, j'aime BCC de tout mon cœur,
au travers de cette nouvelle saga, elle tente quelque chose de plus léger que ce qu'elle à l'habitude de faire, et malheureusement ça ne m'a pas convaincue, on est ici sur une small town (et j'adore ça) mais j'ai pas apprécié plus que ça l'esprit que ça dégageait, j'ai pas accroché à l'histoire et je ne me suis pas du tout attachée aux protagonistes. j'ai trouvé ça cringe et cliché au possible, assez lent mais surtout plein de conversation ultra enfantines pour des trentenaires, j'ai pas compris. le prota est hyper odieux une grosse partie de l'histoire, ça ne m'a pas aidé à m'attacher à lui par la suite, même avec ses traumas. bref, je suis passée à côté et j'en suis la première dégoutée.
si vous avez aimé the holly date vous allez adorer celui-ci.
si vous avez aimé ses autres romans plus profonds, préparez vous à quelque chose de différent et de beaucoup plus léger.
je prie pour que le 2e volet soit plus proche de ce que j'aime, et en même temps j'en doute car elle a annoncé la couleur 😭 (rendez moi BCC)

ੈ♡˳ thoughts:
i loved this book! i literally could not put it down. the characters were so amazing to me, their backgrounds, their stories, their love! whew!
spoiler? maybe? but the i love you scene? it just felt so real! i think that’s one of the reasons i loved this book. it didn’t seem far fetched, this could be the love story of literally anyone. it didn’t seem like it had any fictional elements to it.
mmc defended the fmc so realistically. it was supposedly a slow burn but not really, from the first conversation you knew that these people were destined for each other. the best part was that people in their lives knew they were destined for each other before they even met each other.
overall, this was such a palette cleansing book. not spicy at all either for people who ask!

The Problem with Dating is good. Cheesy good but again, I miss Miss Cherry's book. It have been a while since I picked up her book.
The feel good, easy and little bit of drama blends perfectly. Adding cute adorable characters into it, I am sold.

Yara está saliendo de un matrimonio caótico, su ex es el Golden boy del pueblo por lo que nadie puede creer que lo haya dejado, además él no la deja en paz, está empeñado en recuperarla y no acepta un no por respuesta.
Por otro lado tenemos a Alex un exitoso chef que ha abierto un nuevo restaurante en la pequeña ciudad de Yara, a la gente no le gustan los cambios y más cuando el propietario es un gruñón y grosero, pero si no se gana los habitantes su negocio no prosperará y no podrá cumplir su promesa.
Yara y Alex son vecinos que tuvieron un primer mal comienzo, él es grosero con ella y por más amable que ella se porta, tiene un límite hasta que ya no son tan amables él uno con el otro pero de esos encuentros desafortunados nace una amistad y un trato que los beneficiará a ambos.
Yara necesita que su ex la dejé de molestar y Alex que la gente lo acepte por lo que fingen una relación.
Amé demasiado el libro tanto a Yara como a Alex.
El desarrollo de su relación fue bien bonito 😍🥰 pasaron de ser enemies a amigos y luego de una relación fingida a algo real, eran bien lindos ♥️.
Lo único malo es que un libro spicy free, NO TIENE FUEGUITO 🔥 mínimo una escena pero nada
Es una RomCom a toda regla.

Just an FYI, this book is a bit different from the author's previous books. It is a contemporary romance/ rom-com. However it is not steamy. And I actually loved this!
This is Yara's book. She is 32 years old, owns a dog spa/doggie daycare, and is divorced. Her ex Cole is the beloved Chief of Police. However he is not a nice guy. I disliked this character so much.
The male POV is 35 year old Alex. He is a chef opening a new restaurant. He has an amazing best friend. But he has had a very tough time (both in his childhood and recent past).
This book features quite a few fun tropes. It is funny. But it's also serious and emotional. And I honestly loved it. And even though the book isn't steamy the romance was amazing.
I really loved this book. So happy that it's going to be a series. I can't wait to read Avery's story, The Problem with Players.💜💙

Це було захоплююче, весело, цікаво і дуже зворушливо. Багато, гумору, жартів, любові, сімейного затишку і дрібка суму.
Головні герої такі живі, справжні, не ідеальні, але прекрасні, ти їм віриш, співпереживаєш і розумієш.
Алекс пережив у своєму житті дуже багато болю. Його відкидали, від нього відмовлялися, його зраджували. А єдина людина, яка любила, підтримувала, дарувала тепло і затишок - померла. Він непривітний, грубий, відлюдькуватий, не любить людей і не підпускає нікого близько до себе. Бо боїться. Боїться знову обпектися, боїться, що його знову покинуть, боїться знову залишитися з розбитим серцем. Але скільки ж любові він носить в своєму серці, мене прям розчулив момент, коли він готував ласощі своєму собаці, якого навіть недолюблював, адже вважав, що магазинний корм нікуди не годиться.
Яра - дівчина, яка звикла догоджати людям, яка прокручує в голові кожну розмову і аналізує, що вона не так сказала, чи зробила, вона не вміє відмовляти людям, бо боїться, що її відштовхнуть. Яра добра, щира, і весела, повна протилежність Алексу. Чорний кіт і золотистий ретривер (то не я сказала, то їхні клікухи😂)
Всі їхні взаємодії викликали посмішку на обличчі, а то й шалений сміх. Ворожнеча на початку, ситуація з собачим лайном, момент в ліфті, несподіваний подарунок. Я сміялася в голос. Їхні сварки були вибуховими і голосними. Згодом була угода, фіктивні стосунки, вигідні обом, багато побачень і милих моментів, багато турботи, чесності, розмов, і оголення своїх травм. Алекс, який ненавидить всіх людей і гарчить на всіх, окрім "неї" і Яра, яка поруч з ним почувається в безпеці, як за кам'яною стіною. Він допоміг їй почати відстоювати свої кордони і висловлювати свою думку, а вона за сварливою зовнішністю і грубим характером змогла побачити його біль.
Мені сподобалося, що герої розмовляли, були відкриті один перед одним, не боялися показувати свої слабкі сторони, не боялися говорити про свої почуття. Сподобалося, що не було ніяких непотрібних страждань. Без драми не обійшлося, але вона була доречною і не стосувалася стосунків головних героїв. І це прям великий, жирний плюс, бо я дуже боялася, що в кінці зароблять якусь дурню.
А ще тут прекрасні другорядні герої, батько Яри, чию промову хотілося виписати і повісити на холодильник, її сестри, які стоять горою один за одною, Тіана, Тереза.
Не обійшлося й без бісячих персонажів, Коула хотілося придушити, багатьох жителів містечка також, але я рада, що всі отримали по заслугам, а момент, коли все містечко згуртувалося, щоб допомогти Алексу був дуже зворушливим.
Коротше кажучи, я в любові, мені дуже сподобалося, тому, хто ще не читав, саме настав час.

Він допоміг їй почати відстоювати свої кордони і висловлювати свою думку, а вона за сварливою зовнішністю і грубим характером змогла побачити його біль.
Мені сподобалося, що герої розмовляли, були відкриті один перед одним, не боялися показувати свої слабкі сторони, не боялися говорити про свої почуття. Сподобалося, що не було ніяких непотрібних страждань. Без драми не обійшлося, але вона була доречною і не стосувалася стосунків головних героїв. І це прям великий, жирний плюс, бо я дуже боялася, що в кінці зароблять якусь дурню.
А ще тут прекрасні другорядні герої, батько Яри, чию промову хотілося виписати і повісити на холодильник, її сестри, які стоять горою один за одною, Тіана, Тереза.
Не обійшлося й без бісячих персонажів, Коула хотілося придушити, багатьох жителів містечка також, але я рада, що всі отримали по заслугам, а момент, коли все містечко згуртувалося, щоб допомогти Алексу був дуже зворушливим.
Коротше кажучи, я в любові, мені дуже сподобалося, тому, хто ще не читав, саме настав час.

Their banter is absolutely fantastic, injecting a light-hearted charm into the story. Witnessing how these two opposites come together is a real delight. Both Yara and Alex come with their own set of issues, which adds depth to their characters and makes their journey towards each other feel genuine and relatable.

Seeing how they bring out the best in each other is truly heartwarming. Brittainy masterfully balances humor and heart in this tale, making it an immensely enjoyable read. The side characters were just as fantastic. I'm looking forward to reading the next books in the series, focusing on Yara's sisters. However, I do wish there were a bit more intimate moments between Yara and Alex to further deepen their connection. Furthermore, I found a few characters to be overly emotional, often becoming teary-eyed or crying rather quickly. It was a tad excessive.

C’est un grand OUI. J’ai vite été happée par le côté hyper cosy de cette petite ville, par les personnages et leur relation bien grumpy / sunshine. C’est un peu dommage que le résumé en révèle autant (il raconte un élément de l’intrigue qui arrive genre au milieu du livre) mais pour être honnête ça ne m’a même pas freinée car malgré ça, malgré le rythme assez tranquille… bah j’étais à fond. C’est beau, c’est touchant, c’est la preuve que mon premier petit coup de coeur pour l’autrice n’était pas un coup de chance : je suis vraiment fan d’elle en fait. 🤌

This had some cute moments but the pacing was kind of slow for me. I wanted to really like the characters but Yara came across immature and cheesy at times and Alex's initial grumpiness was more on the rude side. When he did start getting along with Yara it was sweet but I would've liked their romance showcased more.

Waste of time, this was such a disaster. Easily the worst Brittainy Cherry’ novel I have ever read. There was nothing entertaining or remotely interesting about this one.

Vor ein paar Jahren war Brittainy C. Cherry meine Queen und ich wünschte immer noch, ich könnte so gefühlvoll schreiben wie ihr. Ein paar ihrer Bücher haben mich als Leserin und als Autorin geprägt wie kaum etwas anderes, aber mittlerweile sind alle Bücher, die ich von ihr lese nicht mehr auf dem Level wie sie einst waren und einfach nur "okay". Ich wünsche mir tatsächlich nichts mehr, als dass mich ein Buch von ihr wieder begeistert, denn dass letzte, was ich so richtig geliebt habe war "Gegen den bittersten Sturm" und das liegt nun schon 2 Jahre zurück :(

4,5 - The Problem with Dating c’est une douce histoire d’amour qui nous fait croire aux êtres destinés…
Ce roman change de ce que BCC nous à auparavant proposé (elle nous prévient d’ailleurs dès les premières pages du livre). Pas de drame bouleversant, mais une histoire douce et feel-good qui réchauffe le cœur. C’est exactement ce que je cherchais : une lecture agréable, sans prise de tête, qui nous fait sourire et nous rappelle que parfois, une bonne lecture peut être simple et légère.
C’est une histoire rafraîchissante qui m’a fait beaucoup de bien. L’intrigue m’a porté dans un univers à la fois léger et plein de charme. Yara est très attachante, tout comme ses sœurs. J’ai même eu envie de les rejoindre autour d’un café à Honey Creek ! Encore une small town à l’univers hyper doudou et réconfortant.
Alex, quant à lui, semble d’abord froid et renfermé, mais au fur et à mesure de l’histoire, on comprend mieux ses comportements, en partie liés à son passé.
J’ai une nouvelle fois aimer la façon dont BCC nous dévoile peu à peu les différentes facettes de ses personnages avec humour et émotions, comme elle sait si bien le faire, à travers sa plume divine.
J’ai beaucoup aimé le message d’amour véhiculé à la fin du roman à travers les lettres (je n’en dis pas plus, et vous laisse découvrir tout ça).
J’ai hâte de découvrir les histoires des sœurs de Yara dans les prochains tomes, et de retrouver l’univers de Honey Creek qui m’a tant plu.

Yara grew up in the small Illinois town of Honey Creek. She, her dad and her two sisters are beloved in the town. But after Yara's divorce from police chief Cole, a lot of the people chose his side. If they knew all the things, they wouldn't have chosen his side.
Yara wants to finally start dating again. But it's not easy in such a small town with her ex scaring all the bachelors off and telling them that they'll be getting back togehter soon.
Enter Alex. He promised his dying aunt to open another restaurant. He just didn't know that he had to do it in her stupid little town.

I really enjoyed reading this.
Yara is just so sweet and happy and good. After all she's been through with her idiot ex, she still has hope for that happily ever after.
And Alex. He's the opposite. He hates people, he doesn't trust anyone or anthing. Definitely no trust in love and happily ever after.
So adorable those two. And so perfect for each other.
This was a funny and sweet and small-townish slow burn romance with a great cast of people. We already meet Yara's sisters - the stars of the upcoming books.
I wanted a bit more dogs in the book. There is puppy content but it wasn't enough for me.
But it was still a really adorable romance!
Can't wait to read Avery'y book next!
Tiny little rant about the writing. And that's just a me problem because I just hate those two expressions so much - and Brittainy uses them A LOT!
First: PRIOR. Ugh. No idea why, but I hate that word. Just say LAST/previous NIGHT. Why do people use prior? It always sounds like Hugh Grant is talking to a royal person circa 1829. I hate it.
And then SAID. The said that's used like: She had three dogs, and said dogs were barking all night. Brittainy uses that so much and I hate it. Some of those saids are not even used correctly. 😭
But like I said - that's just a me problem.

The Problem With Dating was the type of story that I needed in this very moment. I've gone super dark with a lot of my stories, had over the top drama that gave me anxiety, and certain storylines that left me exhausted. I knew what I was getting into when I picked up this book and I'm so glad that I did because it reminded me why I fell in love with this author in the first place.
Growing up in a small town in Honey Creek Illinois, Yara knows what it's like to be talked about. Newly divorced and trying to start over is never easy but it's even more complicated when your ex is the local sheriff and wants another chance. When the owner of a new upscale restaurant moves to town along with his business, things are about to get a whole lot more interesting in the gossip mill.
I really enjoyed this grumpy/Sunshine trope. Alex and Yara were the complete opposites of each other but they were perfect together in every way. Alex was strong, protective and he showed Yara what it was like to be loved the right way and I liked that. This was a clean read which I honestly was not expecting but I loved that it was like that. You felt the attraction and connection between the characters and there was just something so natural and easy about their relationship. It felt like their souls knew each other before they did and I loved their interactions with each other.
These characters had their fair share of loss and pain but they've managed to do what's best for them and that was to find happiness again. There were a few hiccups along the road and some characters definitely needed to be throat punched but overall I really enjoyed this one and I'm excited to read the next book in the series.

Seit »Wie die Ruhe vor dem Sturm« (welches ich auf Englisch gelesen habe) hatte ich bisher noch kein weiteres Lesehighlight von BCC gehabt 😭 Ich weiß nicht, ob die Gefühle und die Ernsthaftigkeit irgendwie bei der Übersetzung verloren gehen, aber so ist es leider auch bei diesem Buch gewesen.
Ich habe die Geschichte als Hörbuch auf doppelter Geschwindigkeit gehört. Gestern beim Aufräumen sogar die letzten 70% quasi am Stück. Es war ganz okay, hatte jedoch mehr Augenrollen bei mir verursacht, als positive Gefühle.
Angefangen hat es bereits beim männlichen mürrischen Protagonisten. Und ja, ich weiß, dass er nicht der Typ für Smalltalk ist. Ich auch nicht. Und ich weiß auch, dass er gerade eine schwere Zeit durchmacht, nachdem die letzte Person, die er als Familie bezeichnet hat, verstorben ist. Aber trotzdem finde ich dieses Kindergartenverhalten von einem 35 jährigen Mann und ich beziehe mich hierbei erstmal nur auf diese Szene ziemlich am Anfang mit der Wasserschüssel für Hunde einfach total daneben und kindisch. Egal was man durchgemacht hat, seine Reaktion war einfach nicht angemessen.
In Kombination mit der quirligen, kindlichen in ihrer Art und sehr kommunikativen weiblichen Protagonistin waren die meisten Aufeinandertreffen der beiden einfach nur anstrengend. Woher nehmen Autoren/innen immer diese seltsamen Ideen für Zusammenkünfte/Gespräche. Never passiert sowas in der Realität. Dass der MMC hier natürlich auch nach den Lieblingsdüften der FMC riecht war auch keine Überraschung. Wer kennt's nicht? Der Geruch eines Mannes, der nach Kakaobutter, Honig und Eichenholz riecht. Würde gerne Mal wissen, was für Produkte er nutzt, vor allem da diese scheinbar auch sehr langanhaltend sind.
Der böse Ex der FMC, als Side Plot, der alle Männer in der Stadt von ihr fernhielt, war auch etwas zu sehr als der Superschurke dargestellt. Ich meine was sind das denn für Männer, die dann nichtmal um eine Frau die sie lieben kämpfen, wenn der Ex um die Ecke kommt und "nein" sagt? Der grimmige Restaurantbesitzer hat's dann natürlich trotzdem geschafft und wir erhielten ein Happy End. Lange in Erinnerung wird mir das Buch jedoch nicht verbleiben. Mal schauen, ob ich den Folgebänden eine Chance geben werde, groß Hoffnung auf ein Highlight habe ich aber schon lange nicht mehr.

The Problem with Dating had some elements that just didn’t work for me. Here are my thoughts:
1st: The ex-husband played a huge role throughout the book. He spent his free time trying to make Yara’s life miserable, constantly gaslighting her. That whole storyline felt overdone and uninteresting to me.
2nd: Must love dogs! I usually enjoy dogs in books, but Alex didn’t want anything to do with dogs. I get that it’s a plotline—Yara is the dog whisperer who fosters a bond between Alex and the dog he inherited. However, Alex’s initial dislike of dogs made it harder for me to connect with his character.
3rd: I like a good grumpy/sunshine dynamic, but Alex’s negativity and sour attitude toward Yara were over the top. It crossed the line from grumpy to outright rude.
4th: The revelation of the matchmakers working behind the scenes was just okay.
On a positive note, I’m looking forward to reading about Yara’s sisters and their love stories.

Алекс приїжджає у маленьке містечко, щоб відкрити там ресторан на прохання двоюрідної бабусі. він буркотливий, зламаний життям, вічно незадоволений. такий собі відлюдькуватий чорний кіт. Яра – сонячна, неймовірна жінка. я би назвала її серцем Хані Крік. на етапі знайомства вона розлучена і готова до нових побачень.
Алекс мені не сподобався на початку і так до кінця я й не змогла кардинально змінити свою думку. це людина, яка ненавидить весь світ і навіть тих, хто до нього добрий. я розумію, що життя не було до нього ласкавим, але все те лайно, яке він вилив на Яру – не було заслуженим. цей чоловік занадто довго витягував палицю зі своєї дупи. напруга була довгий час і з боку людей, і зі сторони нестерпного колишнього Яри. що сподобалося, так це Алекс, коли у його голову вселився здоровий глузд. робив гарні жести, піклувався, захищав та підтримував Яру. ця його сторона мені сподобалась, але не сподобався шлях, який був до цього. бо поки це сталося, то просто вже було все одно.

Це було дуже-дуже добре. Саме те, чого мені бракувало.
Яра пережила важке розлучення з улюбленцем всього містечка і виявилась головним поганцем для всіх, так як нікому в голову не приходило, що шеф поліції і за сумісництвом її колишній чоловік, може бути зрадником і аб‘юзером. Але вона вирішує налагодити своє життя - перший рік присвячує виключно собі і всім речам, які завжди хотіла зробити. А потім розуміє, що хотіла б захопитись кимось, відчути закоханість, ходити на побачення та отримувати всі ті емоції, яких так довго була позбавлена. Вона - золотистий ретривер, якого всі люблять.
Алекс важко переживає смерть бабусі, але він не звик показувати свої емоції. Тож він працює 24/7, відкриваючи новий заклад у маленькому містечку, адже пообіцяв це тій, яка його виховала.

Насправді історія дуже і дуже красива. Хоч стосунки героїв і починались з великої кількості непорозумінь, образ і злості, я розумію кожного з них. І все, що відбувалось далі, просто розтоплювало моє серце…
Те, як Алекс вчив Яру знати свою цінність, відстоювати себе і відмовляти людям. Те, як Яра подарувала Алексу кулон з сіллю. Те, як Алекс не тільки залишив пса, про якого не просив, а й готував для нього особливі ласощі. Те, як вони заспокоювали одне одного під час паніки, дозволяли зламатись, щоб потім зібрати уламки. Те, як Яра поставила два додаткові набори приборів - для своєї мами і для Терези. A donde vayas, yo voy. І нарешті те, як Коул, зібравшись робити Ярі пропозицію, поклав у свій кошик те саме, що її мати поклала в кошик багато років тому, коли вперше зустріла Яру та її батька. Кошик, з якого почалася її сім'я.
В цій книзі було так багато до нестями милих і дуже символічних моментів, що я декілька разів бралась плакати.
Мені дуже сподобався батько дівчат. Його любов до доньок просто прекрасна. Мені сподобалась Татіана. А поворот з Пітером і Терезою був особливо милим і зворушливим.
🤌🏼 У кожних стосунках є припливи і відпливи, Яро. Злети і падіння. Ви не завжди на піку, в ла-ла ленді медового місяця. Іноді ви в окопах. Ось чому тобі потрібен хтось із міцним фундаментом. Хтось, хто любить тебе достатньо, щоб дійти до завтрашнього дня, не завдаючи тобі болю, навіть якщо ти не подобаєшся йому сьогодні.
Це просто безцінно. Книга неймовірна.
Це було дуже-дуже добре. Саме те, чого мені бракувало.
Яра пережила важке розлучення з улюбленцем всього містечка і виявилась головним поганцем для всіх, так як нікому в голову не приходило, що шеф поліції і за сумісництвом її колишній чоловік, може бути зрадником і аб‘юзером. Але вона вирішує налагодити своє життя - перший рік присвячує виключно собі і всім речам, які завжди хотіла зробити. А потім розуміє, що хотіла б захопитись кимось, відчути закоханість, ходити на побачення та отримувати всі ті емоції, яких так довго була позбавлена. Вона - золотистий ретривер, якого всі люблять.
Алекс важко переживає смерть бабусі, але він не звик показувати свої емоції. Тож він працює 24/7, відкриваючи новий заклад у маленькому містечку, адже пообіцяв це тій, яка його виховала.

Okuduğum en rahatlatıcı ve en güzel kitaplarda biriydi. 💜Yazarın zaten kalemine aşığım ama her kitabında bu kadar samimi hissettirmesi ayrı bir olay. Karakterlere aşık oldum. Aynı zamanda kocaman kocaman sarılmak istiyorum. 💖💖

Ve bu kitabı okurken hem çok güldüm hem bazı yerlerde gözlerim doldu hem de çok huzurlu hissettim.
Alex, okuduğum en huysuz karakterlerden biri ama bir o kadar da kibar ve tatlı. Yara'yı kırdı diye özür dilemek için çikolatalı kurabiye yapıyor. Sen otur ben yemek yaparım diyor. (Nerde böyle insanlar???) 😂😂 Kasaba halkı ile ufak muhabbetlere girmekten nefret ediyor ama kendi içinde kaba değil sadece bunları sevmiyor. Bu özelliğine bayıldım. Yani Alex tam olarak "herkese hır sevdiğine mır" tiplerden.
Yara ise tam tersi. Tam bir sosyal kelebek. Herkesle gülüşüyor, insanlar onu çok seviyor. Tabi bazı gereksiz kişiler vardı kasaba da ama hallettik onları.
Bu ikisinin başta nefret ile başlayıp sürekli didişmrlerinden sonra arkadaş olup ordan sevgili olmalarını okumak aşırıııı zevkliydi. Çok eğlendim.💜💜Ben bu kitabı tekrar tekrar okurum çünkü çok soft/comfort.
Ve Alex'in halası için kalbim kırıldı. Umarım Peter Parker'i ile mutludur. 🤍🤍

I guess I'm the exception here. . . but this was so boring 🥴
The pacing was so slow and don't get me wrong, I love a good story development but this story was so bland and I couldn't connect with the characters at all.
