The Little Puppy: Finger Puppet Book is part board book, part toy, and fully likely to provide pleasure to young children who are eager to read and play. The simple story revolves around a puppy fetching a ball, chasing a squirrel, playing hide-and-seek, and learning new tricks.
Response to Two Professional Reviews: These reviews are accurate in the sense that this is a good interactive book for kids to read with parents. Since there is a puppet, it is a fun read for kids and for parents. Kids will be excited to read this book because of the attached puppet.
Evaluation of Literary Elements: Sentences are simple and printed largely on the pages. It is easy for kids to see and try to read as they play along with the puppet. It is a good book to get kids excited to read while practicing simple sentences for starting readers.
Consideration of Instructional Application: Preschools could use this book to introduce reading or activities that include the kids’ interests. For example, if some kids love puppies, the class could read this book in relevance to their interests because it has a puppy puppet. It can be an interactive book for teachers and students or parents and kids. The puppet makes the book more memorable as well.

This book is only as good as your voice throwing skills and ability to move the puppet puppy in a believable fashion. I may give up my day job and dedicate myself fully to the art of puppetry after reading this book! After a long, hard day of working; I'm sometimes not able to commit fully to the role. I know I nail it when it really annoys the cat and all my son wants to do is bite the puppy’s nose. (It may be because he thinks he can muffle the barking... still unknown at this point.)

Not the world's best story, but Eleanor just loves to play with the little puppy and doesn't care about stories yet, so it gets 5 stars.

Not sure why my son loves this so much. He has another finger puppet book featuring a dog as well, but he picked out Little Puppy at a restaurant souvenir shop and squeals with delight about it.
