This was a delightful book. I am a birder. Really enjoyed the stories and learned more about birds. Some stories were happy and some were sad. So glad we have rehab centers for all the birds. Makes me want to volunteer somewhere and help out wildlife. I recommend this book.

A wonderful book full of the stories from a dedicated bird rehabber in Canada. Stories are both touching, heartwarming and in some cases shocking. I particularly enjoyed the tales of the hawks and owls as those birds are what I am most familiar with. All the stories are fascinating, and they reveal the deep affection that the author has for her charges and the emotional energy she puts into her work. She makes use not only of her own meticulous observations and records but also what sounds like extensive research and wide-flung avian medicine contacts to attempt to help any bird that crosses her path. A great read for a bird lover, especially anyone who has had experience with rehab.
