It’s rare to find a textbook that is both extremely informative and enjoyable to read. Psychology of the Future has to be one of the first ones I’ve ever come across. I think that textbooks are often like lecturers. The good ones provide information that you want to learn about. After the lecture or book is complete, you have a few tidbits of knowledge that you can relate to your own life or work. The great ones, though, provide examples so that you can immediately see the potential uses of thes ...more

This book is a condensed version of the work of Stan Grof. All of his previous books and research on psychedelic therapy and spiritual exploration are exposed here in basic form. I recommend this as an intro to his work and to anyone who may be interested in the use of psychedelics for healing and self-exploration.

Specific, but cognitive book in psychological sphere. Gives interesting insights. Also brings to people an unbiased and progressive view of what's happening here.

Amazingly written, Grof gives us transcendental wisdom. The only thing necessary is honesty, an open mind and courage.

Grof is known for his early studies of LSD and its effects on the psyche—the field of psychedelic psychotherapy. Building on his observations while conducting LSD research and on Otto Rank's theory of birth trauma, Grof constructed a theoretical framework for pre- and perinatal psychology and transpersonal psychology in which LSD trips and other powerfully emotional experiences were mapped onto on ...more
