WE ARE LIVING AT A CRITICAL POINT IN OUR HISTORY, and our human civilization as we know it is on the verge of a radical transformation.
In our attempt to regain our lost paradise, we can become obsessed with recovering a sense of security, even if it is for just a brief moment. The problem is that we are often looking in the wrong places. It turns out, most things that society promises will bring us happiness never really live up to their expectations. The moral compass that defines our Western societies seems to be pointing us towards decadence; people are moving away from patriotism, religion, and family values, and are falling prey to ideologies that represent the antithesis of those intolerance, violence, anti-family agendas, and an overall lack of moral compass.
The shift in values has been a gradual process, it happens without us really noticing, as has been the case throughout history. After all, daily life for most of us is busy, it’s hard to pay attention to how our society has been transforming itself over the decades; most of us think that “Zeitgeist,” the spirit of our times, is defined by humanity itself. But what if that weren’t the case? What if we are falling prey to dark forces that are governing our lives from the shadows?

🖊️I have changed my mind about this book. The first few pages were tough to read and I wasn't sure if I could make it to the end. But the story and the things that are explained here grew on me. This book has never been on my shelves for a long time, this is the first Paola I bought.
🖊️ Everyone should read this book, i know most of us do not like topics like this. However the topic is intriguing and it clearly spells out the connotation of our society.
🖊️This story grabbed me from the off, and was indeed difficult to put down. Ok so she is an acquired taste, but there is just something about her writing that hooks you in and doesn't let go so easily. I should say one reason is the story here is both captivating and strangely mysterious.
🖊️The way she inviting us ( readers) to get involved in a revolution of awakening souls, is a bidding with heartfelt and afford a visibility of revision in our traditions which we were following for long.
🖊️The world created by Paola in this book is done with such care and is so full of unexpected and tangential details that I found myself wondering if I wasn't perhaps reading a work of lost Paradis fiction rather than just a plain old novel. It's an amazingly well crafted narrative, heart wrenching and hopeful at the same time. Our life is an illusion to all except those who share in it.

While our opinions may differ on various subjects, I align with the author on aspects such as the impact of social media, the merits of rural life, the value of small-scale approaches in a global context. However, I diverge on viewpoints related to gender equality and the transgender movement, especially concerning discussions on motherhood and self-gender identity. I believe choices regarding motherhood are deeply personal, and career decisions are individual prerogatives. Not everyone shares identical aspirations. Similarly, diverse perspectives exist on gender identity. I appreciate the author's perspective on freedom of expression and advocate for more tolerance in such conversations. In this book, the author shares her analysis of present reality and its comparison with the good old days. The author speaks about almost everything, like health, career, media, technology, politics, globalization, societal setup, social media, family and relationships, and spirituality. We may not be sharing similar opinions on many topics, but I second you on some topics: life on social media, the countryside is not bad, globalization, and small is beautiful. I do not share your opinion on gender equality and the transgender movement, especially since you speak about motherhood and self-gender identity. I believe motherhood is a very personal decision that cannot be commented on. A woman wants to be a mother or not, and her career decisions are up to her. Not everyone shares similar desires. The same goes for gender identity. I liked your write-up on freedom of expression. I wish we could do it with a bit more tolerance. All in all, this is a brilliant book.
