Susannah Laine had many questions to be answered about her late husband. She was pregnant with his child, but was'nt sure about his faithfulness. In the resort town of Lakemont she hoped to find out some answers. A budding friendship with Nathan Sloane might just complicate things, however.

I borrowed this book from the local library. I enjoy reading the inspirational romance books because they are clean love filling romance. This book is about a man and a lady who both have trials to overcome in their lives but help each other overcome those obstacles. Good, easy and quick read. With a happy ending.

He lied to her!
He said he was going to Boston for a conference.
When he was killed in an auto accident, he wasn't anywhere near Boston.
She didn't think he would cheat; but then why was he in the wrong place?
Eight months pregnant she has traveled to the small town where the accident happened.
She is staying at the lodge where he stayed, trying to figure it all out.
The owner's son Nathan comes to tell Susannah she has to leave. His father is a heart patient. His step-sister made a mistake. They are getting ready to close. And besides, a pregnant woman shouldn't be in this isolated area alone.
She has her secrets. Nathan has his own guilt. The step-sister has her drama. The father has his own story. What will they learn about each other?
What will they learn about caring for another?
Can any of them forgive?

Started slow for me, got better as it went on.

One of the best love inspired novels I've read, but the ending was just a little to pat, for me.

This was my introduction to Marta Perry. I really enjoyed the book and have since gone on a search for more or her books.
