As a mom to 2 competitive swimmers, this book was great. I'm dealing with burnout from the oldest...and the author said let them quit. This is so against everything I believe--stick in there--you won't be good unless it hurts. But the author makes a clear point that swimming must be fun and ruining a parent child relationship over swimming isn't worth it. I liked his ideas in using the coaches--which I used this past weekend. Coaches can get your kids to do things you could never do. I liked the nutrition, warmups, and the chapters aimed at working with coaches. Hopefully my kids will be inspired by the olympics and keep swimming.
