This is the story of Alexia. Yes, only Alexia! There is also a guy, Jaxson but the whole story is about Alexia. Alexia that cannot forget a number once she sees it and that is in trouble although she did nothing wrong! Oh, Alexia had also a relationship with her super sexy boss!
I have to say that I enjoyed this story really much! The plot is kind of expected with a couple of really ...more
After reading various reviews of Layers I was looking forward to a fun, sexy, and engaging read. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed. I wanted to love this book! Yes, there is sexy fun. Yes, there is funny banter. Unfortunately, that just wasn't enough. For me, the mark of a truly good story is the writer's ability to make me care about the characters. To get emotionally involved in their lives enough to feel as if I'm experiencing the journey along with them. To ride the ...more

Omg what did i just read???? I just finished it and i couldn't wait to write a

This was the first book I have read by T.L. Alexander and I have to say I loved her writing style, I found myself laughing out loud on more than one occasion and I got some strange looks from the people around me.
Jaxson and Alexia had a brief fling but she got scared and called it off without an explanation and Jax was heartbroken but hopeful. Now a while later Alexia is in some major trouble at work and Jaxson, who is the CEO of Ryan Acquisitions, is the only one that can ...more

She is the first woman to tell him no and he doesn't know what to do with that, he has no idea how to woo a woman. Alexia has her reasons for staying away from Jaxson, she wants him but is determined to stay away from him until that is no longer an option. someone has been embezzling funds from Jaxson's company and they've made it look like it was Alexia, rather than have her ...more
Alexia's monologues are hilarious and show a young fun side of an successful business woman. Others say it doesn't show the inner thinking of a real 27 year old but I disagree, yes at time she resembles more of a teen ...more
You have to get used to the unusual writing style, but once you got it you can't put the book down.
The heroine is a very smart, strong lady, who knows exactly what she wants and does not give in to her desires but sticks to her responsibilities. The hero is the typical male although not super intelligent but more an average CEO, who thinks more with his dick and is miffed when the heroine does not fall for him.
The dialogues are hilarious ...more

A very head strong woman named Alexia Elizabeth Keith is the leading woman in this book. Soon after she gets back from a vacation she is pulled to the top floor escorted by security. While she racks her brain in ...more
That being said, the plot is difficult to believe. Many readers may get to a certain part and say “well that’s not how that works in the real world but okay. ...more
And this is just the beginning! ...more
It's safe to say though, that it gets a little better. Lacking an original ending and sneak peek, it still remains an interesting book. This is a very disorganized novel. Therefore, ...more
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
I liked the sound of this but from the first I felt kind of plunged into a story, not sure what exactly was between Jackson and Alexia, wondering if they were together/had been together/intended getting together. Its all very strange.
Then the $20 million embezzlement changes come in and to top that Alexia's flat gets completely trashed, and she has some pretty horrible email and mail threats against her. Is she bothered? ...more

When Alexia Keith warns the reader on the first page that she is going to tell her story in the middle, she is not kidding. This is a risky approach in any type of writing, especially in erotica where the author tries to build a connection between the reader and the characters. When you sit down with TL Alexander’s Layers, throw away all your preconceived ideas of how a book should be written.

Layers is the first book in the Layers series by TL Alexander.
The beginning of the story leaves you wanting to know more. At the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a good job of creating a realistic world that was easy to picture including a time frame and place. I was easily pulled in the writer’s world. The pace of the story was very fast paced. It was hard to keep up with at times. The main characters and the secondary ...more
What can I say about Layers...First word comes to mind would be interesting...
It was a long read a bit over 300 pages, unfortunately I found myself drifting in some places and in other places its busy...a good mix? Depends on what you like.
Meet Alexia young woman that has got it together...mostly. Alexia is a lover of scotch with a snarky personality and a vocabulary that would rival a sailor.
Meet Jaxson well her boss mostly that just oozes all kinds of sex appeal, but the fact that ...more
Alexia Keith has a secret and she is not what she seems. She’s a feisty, headstrong, and extremely intelligent heroine, but withholds her heart and we don’t get the big reveal about her past until the end of this first installment. Currently, she’s accused of embezzlement, and Jaxson Ryan, CEO of Ryan Acquisitions and Alexia’s boss, believes she’s been set up. But who would do that, and why pin it on Alexia?
So begins this drama of Jaxson and Alexia and the myriad of secondary ...more
Oh I love Alexia! She'd all spunk and bite. She an absolutely gorgeous woman, has men falling over her, and just doesn't care. She often drops swear words in and dresses (except when at work, when she's all professional) for comfort.
Jaxson is her boss. He's rich and stunning and keeps chasing Alexia. At first, the story seems to have gaps, but the author slowly reveals to us their past and it all comes together nicely.
The story starts when Alexia arrives back from ...more
Alexia is definitely the most spunky, gorgeous potty mouth I have ever had the good fortune of reading about. I liked that the reader put a little explanation before the story because, yes, it's ...more
“He thinks a legal pad is a place where attorneys hang out, and legal briefs are the tighty-whities that crawl up his crack.”
“You are my crack – my heroin. It physically hurts to think about you not being a part of my life.”

This is my first T.L. Alexander read and shortly after beginning this story, I hurriedly logged into Goodreads and added all ...more
Alexia Keith did not think her life would change drastically when she returned from her vacation. She is brash with a potty mouth who loves her scotch.
Alexia has her own issues and does not need her boss CEO of Ryan Acquisitions, Jaxson Ryan into the mix despite how much they both want each other.
On her first day back to work, she finds she been fired and that she supposedly embezzled millions of dollars but due to the CEO infatuation with her he manages not to get her ...more
This is the first time I have read a book by T L Alexander and I really loved it enough to get all three books and read them back to back. Was well worth the read all three of them. Layers was a really great book that will capture your attention from start to finish. This was one book that had me laughing out loud at times. The book had a really great story line. Alexia at times had a potty mouth on her but she was great. ...more
I went back and forth on this book so many times I got whiplash. Some moments I loved and couldn't wait to turn the page to see what is going on next and then five pages later I was bored or rolling my eyes at the attempt at humor (though the parts of humor that did work, I thought were really funny), and just skimming the pages to hurry up and get through it.
I guess the bottom line is though, as soon as I finished, I went and got the next ...more
