I received this book from a Goodreads Giveaway. At first I thought it started out kind of slow, but as I kept reading I understood the reasons for all the explaining. Jonathan Tait sold his soul to a demon in order to have wealth and power and the love of his life. He received the wealth and power, but his love was sadly not to be his. Later on he found another love that was not to be his either. The demon Murdock killed her, but left his children. With his children he knew that he needed to cha ...more

I am an avid reader of horror and fantasy novels, so naturally this book intrigued me. I had a hard time putting this book down once I started reading it.The characters are complex and well developed. The storyline is not your typical good versus evil. The author really made me think about how I define hell. I look forward to reading more novels from Sidney Stone.

I read the synopsis to this book and thought this would be a great new science fiction/supernatural novel to add to my library. The author came up with a new twist of how war between the angels and demons began. Human population exploded and technology became so advanced that the demons could now be killed. So the demons rally themselves together and declare war on humankind. Jennifer Ainsley enters the story as the up and coming hero. I liked a couple of aspects of the book but I felt as though ...more

4.5 stars

I've been reading a few demon books recently but none as gory and fast paced as this. I loved how gruesomely the demons were described and graphic examples were given of how they killed humans, the fact that the war started halfway through the book instead of dragging it out, the disturbing look at humanity from multiple stories in those last few moments before the world ends and how depraved people became. I even liked evil, old Jonathan. The only thing that brings it down to a 4.5 for

Sidney Stone is a very good writer! The book was very well written! The final scene is extremely moving! The book took a very interesting interpretation of Lucifer and demons. The explanations of demons was a little repetitive. It's definitely worth reading for those who like a combination of horror fantasy and philosophy which I apparently do not. Though the final scene was wonderfully written and very moving, I dislike endings that leave me wanting to cry hence my three stars.
