I have mixed emotions for this book...
On one hand, I couldn't stop reading. I was sucked into Allegra and Marco's temultuos relationship. It wasn't the hot and cold dance. No! They were a burning fire of lava proportions!!! They were an inferno.
On the other hand, there were parts where I questioned their love for each other.
“A woman is a beautiful rose, rare in its intricacies, the scent unlike any other flower. Her touch is in the softness of the petals. She’s rare and beautiful. She’s fearless, and she comes with thorns.”
The was some other women issues, but Allegra made sure to nip that in the bud once she put on her big girl undies on and showed one of them up close her favorite "security blanket". Although, that being said, I was also very upset with her and her relation with the other man in her life that wasn't Marco.
Maybe it's just me, but I can tell you, I do NOT treat my male best friends with THAT much love and affection. There are boundaries and especially when it comes to my partner. I understand loyalty, but it came to a point where I was wondering if this would end up being a love triangle instead. But hey, look, I'm a jealous, semi dry girlfriend so I don't do with a lot of that lovey-dovey crap from others. Again, that's just me. And then there's Marco.
A violent necklace from my fierce husband. Dangerously brutal. He was power. He was destruction. But he was also everything I needed.
Oh, Marco. I loved that you were ruthless and fit the Mafia man to a Tee. But you also pissed me off with the other women in your life. We'll call one of them Cuntchesca and the other one Twatiada. (And for the record, I knew from the very beginning SHE was the cuprit).
And you guys know my love for secondary characters. There were quite a few of them. Sisters and brothers and soldiers oh my! Loved how close they were with each other and how the peanut gallery had a lot to say about Allegra and Marco's relationship:
Deidre laughed nearby. “Do you think he’s suffocating her?”
“When she said I do, she might have been making a promise to make his life interesting,” Stefano said.
“She’s going to make my life hell,” Ant said. “I have to keep him from killing her and anyone who comes near her. Yes, we know you can hear us.”
Stefano's book is up next. I can't even imagine what his crazy ass book will be like. But I have a feeling, it's going to be another wild ride.

I am honestly disturbed by some of the reviews. Some would have you believe that Marco physically cheated on Allegra when, in reality, he was assaulted. If the FMC had someone sneak into her bed to initiate intimacy while she had been very drunk and passed out, we'd all be calling that assault because no sober consent was given at all. That's exactly what happened here with Marco. He went to bed drunk and his previous mistress (eff buddy? from before his commitment to Allegra) climbed into his bed and went down on him while he was sleeping. He thought he was dreaming of Allegra and called out her nickname. He had no idea the OW was there and would not have given consent if he had known. When he woke up in the morning and realized the OW was in his bed, he was livid. That is not cheating. That is assault, and frankly, the victim shaming going on in some reviews disgusts me. Regarding this particular incident, do not be fooled.
That said, he made some really inappropriate decisions regarding the OW after that. The first wrong move was not telling Allegra what happened right away, but I feel like there was possibly some misplaced guilt on his end and a refusal to admit that he was assaulted. To be fair, Allegra made some stupid decisions next before he did. Her relationship with Knox was emotionally inappropriate. She was sneaking away to meet up with him and she was very protective of him against her husband. Her loyalty was not with her husband where it belonged, and I don't think he was wrong for being upset. Her behavior was extremely suspicious, and it looked like she had a lover. She only has herself to blame for that, regardless of her reasons. Could Marco have chosen to trust her and not be the idiot who invited his ex mistress to their wedding? Uh, yes. He was definitely an asshole when he assumed she was cheating (again, her behavior did not look good and that's her fault) and he had no business going into OW's bedroom while she was there for their wedding, even if he had no intention of cheating. He had no business inviting her there in the first place in his attempt to make Allegra jealous. That was childish. Again, the emotional intimacy was inappropriate. Both Marco and Allegra are guilty of that.
I liked this book for the most part, but I was very frustrated by Allegra's double standards. She demanded he blindly trust her when she was not acting trustworthy, and she expected him to completely cut off the OW when she wouldn't do that with Knox. I get that they did not have a sexual relationship, but she gave him emotional intimacy that should have belonged only to Marco. By the end, they kind of rub it in his face that Knox will always have a special place in her heart that Marco can't touch and he just has to accept it. It rubbed me the wrong way. I did not buy the "he's family" excuse she gave. I also can't stand when a FMC is so stupidly stubborn that she makes really stupid decisions that put herself and others in danger because she thinks she's more of a badass than she is, and that's exactly what she does toward the end.

Allegra and Marco. I'm tired of the fmc being a virgin, and mmc whoring around. Their marriage was arranged when she was a teenager, and she stayed a virgin. He had every intention of keeping a mistress after marriage, and had slept with her the night before seeing Allegra after years. I didn't like Marco, at all. He changes his mind after keeping his mistress after seeing Allegra based on her looks and that she's not a mouse. But, he also has issues that she has her own mind. He had delayed their wedding 2 years already and had never bothered to keep in touch. Why she held a torch for him is beyond me. There was nothing endearing about him.
There's a dub con scene after the engagement where he's drunk and sleeping, and his mistress gives him a blow job. He's sexually assaulted? I say dub con because she makes a point saying she's been coming into his bed in the middle of the night for years, and he never had an issue. He also told her nothing was going to change between them, and they were also planning a trip together. He never officially broke it off with her. For all she knew, they were still together. So yeah, I blame him for that part. He never tells Allegra. He invites his mistress to their wedding because he's a little bitch (he's mad at Allegra and makes it seem like he's still sleeping with her). She finds out from overhearing on their wedding day. But of course, Allegra is mad at her.
I mostly liked Allegra, but I got tired of her internal thoughts and how great Marco was. He wasn't. She would show a spine momentarily then get BBS. All the talk of how badass she was, and when the moment came to show it, she had to be saved. I wish that was written differently. I loved her relationship with her friend Knox. I wish she would've ended up with him.
Overall, the story had flow and the suspense plot was good. The ending was a HFN with a small cliffhanger.

Marco, aka The Enforcer, is sent to America to finalize his arranged marriage to Allegra (Ally) to secure the alliance he needs to avenge his brother’s death. If Marco thought, he was getting a docile and obedient wife that he could easily ignore, then he was mistaken. Ally proves that she could be just as crazy as him. The way he became obsessed with her the moment he laid eyes on her and called her Topolina, just had me smiling. The spicy scenes were burning hot. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I wasnt sure about this book at 1st but it really did reel me in and once it did it was a page turner. I really enjoyed all the different charecters in this book and even though its smut it did have good plot that kept it interesting. I think im coming around to mafia books since its always romance but has that suspense aspect that comes with the mafia.

Looking for your next read that you wont be able to put down no matter what, look no further.
Kyann completely devoured this arranged marriage mafia romance, I'm a big fan of this authors book and wanted to see how she was going to take on the mafia romance genre and I was far from disappointed. In this book we get amazing tropes such as forced proximity, arranged marriage, he falls first and ofc mafia romance. Like with any book from this author you get amazingly written and super hot spicy scenes that will have you reaching for that glass of water to cool you down through out the book. Even after reading multiple books by Waters every book and its plot feels completely knew and fresh. I also loved seeing peeks of characters that I love from previous books appear in this read.
This author just knows how to write fmcs that are strong and take no shit but still are likeable and relatable, Allegra took my attention from chapter one with how she refused to be completely controlled by her new husband and wanting to keep her own secrets to her self. Sweet baby Jesus I completely fell in love with Marco while reading this, he's the perfect depiction of a mafia man and although morally grey you can't help but love this enforcer. The tension between these two was so thick from the start and I was loving the push and pull between these characters through out the read.
If you're a mafia romance lover you need to pick this up asap cause I promise you you will devour this book as quickly as you can.

This is my first book by KyAnn Waters and it won’t be my last. What drew me in was the blurb and that book cover. So going in I didn’t know what to expect and then the next thing I knew I was hooked and couldn’t put this book down. It is an addictive story that keeps you turning the pages.
At the start of this story I won’t lie and say I did not like Marco I looked at him as being an obnoxious a’hole but trust me your opinion does change of him especially with how he is with Allegra. You can’t help but fall in love Marco he is the embodiment of Mafia.
Our main fmc Allegra is just on point not a frail mafia princess whose sole job is to bend or the whims of men. She is a strong loveable and kick ass character who holds her own in a world dominated by men.
This story has you on tender hooks wanting more. I was so disappointed that it ended.

The perfect start to an exciting series!
KyAnn Waters once again proves she is the queen of fast-paced, superbly plotted, S3xy romance. I loved Allegra and her badass knife and the moments Marco was vulnerable. The dialogue was on point, and the side characters were well developed. Highly recommended to dark romance readers who love those trigger warnings.

Dark steamy drama
Pretty good read , there are parts I felt kinda dragged on but then it would pick back up again so worth the wait. The MFC encouraging her 16 year old annoying sis to hang out with older men was off putting. Theres defiantly room for the next book .

I randomly chose this book to read from KU and man!! did i become OBSESSED with this!!!
I was engrossed from beginning to end!! it was everything and more...
this is my first book from this author. I absolutely loved getting to know and learn about this world and its characters. There is such a great family and warmth feel to it. At the same time as not knowing whats going to happen or if all these characters are trustworthy.
I had absolutely no idea the direction this book would go and it kept me on edge. It was soo much fun to read and I do hope she does books for the rest of the brothers as well as some side characters. The side characters were just as important as the main. Like Ant, Carmine etc. you knew they just had each others backs and would die for each other. It was pretty sweet.
I know Luca had a novella out before this one but im still debating whether to read that or not. Im not into too much bdsm books. It gets pretty old for me. But she creates intriguing plots that suck you in.
I adore Knox alot even though we dont know much about him. But i was hoping he could end up with Marco's sister. it would kind of solidify him as a memeber of his new family. But after that ending I doubt that would happen. I dont know how i feel about that. I dont actually hate it but I'm not into it as much. Im sure whatever the author plans anyway She will make me definitely route for the couple haha.
Ally was such a great character. She was strong and fought for herself. Although she had moments of weakness where i felt she needed to put on a strong front, I like her alot. I usually don't care much for fmc's but she was awesome! I would love to be her friend.
What annoyed me is Ally's sister. She was so cool and amazing in the beginning of the book. However, she got very annoying and just a brat to be honest. They seemed to be very close but then as it went on, it didnt seem so. I kept getting annoyed and thinking she needs to chill. I did admire her courage in the beginning.
I also was thinking her love interest couldve been the person she liked. I felt Him liking her would probably make him turn more into a man and become more serious like his family wants him to be. But again it doesnt seem to be turning into that.
I do also hope this series doesnt have an mfm couple. I was scared it was going to happen in a future book and it still might with this specific brother but i think it doesnt fit as he needs to man up and best way is to be forced into it because of a woman!
I didnt like how Marco dismissed Ally's sister problem later on in the book. Especially when She was distraught about it. He lost points for that but He is my favorite so far! I was obsessed with his obsession with Allegra.
I absolutely love this series and cant wait for more!! I do hope there's more!! I immediately started the second book and Its hard to put down!!

Allegra is a mafia princess has been promised to Marco Bruno a capo in the Bruno mafia. They have met once when she was younger and that’s what Marco remembers her as a gangly teenager. Boy is he in for a surprise.
Allegra is friends with a Young man with the Irish mafia. He watches over her and her sister.
This is a heart pounding book that everyone should read. It’s excellent writing and the characters are phenomenal

Romance was lust-driven and lacked trust, communication and emotional maturity. I'm starting to think this is a common trait of all mafia romances. Both main characters did unforgivable things, and I was frustrated for almost the entirety of the book.
That said, this surprisingly got me a bit out of my reading slump. The pacing was great, writing was easy to read, and the plot genuinely surprised me, even if it was confusing at times.

The book was okay. The story line was pretty good. But some aspects were just not necessary to be there. Like that he invited his ‘mistress’ to their wedding.
I also found the and with Knox and Dee a bit icky. I don’t know what exactly it was but yeah.
I liked Allegra. The only thing there was that I would have liked her to not have slept with him the first night. Because he did let her wait 2 years.
The book was okay. The story line was pretty good. But some aspects were just not necessary to be there. Like that he invited his ‘mistress’ to their wedding.
I also found the and with Knox and Dee a bit icky. I don’t know what exactly it was but yeah.

The start of an exciting series, with so many twists and turns I could not put the book down. KyAnn writes like you are in the book and you just have to keep turning the pages to see where it goes next.

Power with Strength
I couldn't put this book down and read it in 1 day, so good but it ended on a cliffy. Hopefully, next book will come soon
Marco and Allegra were a beautiful couple with so much love . The rest of the characters will hopefully get a story of their own. I love the authors style and will definitely be reading more of her books.

I recommend this book, can't wait for the next.
If you like hot and steamy. Meaning hot all the way around you'll love this book. It's mafia, so expect graphic loving and maybe a bit of violence. If you loved KyAnn's Heller Raider MC books, you'll love this.

Amazing read!
I normally don't care for mafia type stories, however this one kept me interested and wanting for more of the story. Can't wait to start the next book as soon as I finish this review!!
