Inglath Cooper

Virginia author Inglath Cooper fell in love with reading as a little girl, devouring most of the books in her elementary school library. At some point, she decided she wanted to pursue a writing career, creating romance fiction that did for others what her favorite books have done for her. “I love character-driven books that leave me feeling as if I’ve really known these people and make me wish I didn’t have to turn the last page.”

“Romance fiction has always appealed to me because it deals with so many of the relationships in a woman’s life. Not only the love of her life, but often her relationship with her mother, sister or best friend. Romance authors have so much room to explore many of the meaningful moments and transitions in women’s lives. And who doesn’t love a good love story?”

Inglath most often writes stories about love and life that are set in small Virginia towns like the one where she grew up. “I like to think the flavor of my hometown shows up in my books both in their setting and through the characters who people it.”

When aspiring writers ask her how to be an author, she says, “Everything I know about writing books I learned from reading books.”

Inglath has been chosen as a RITA® Award winner for best long contemporary romance novel given out each year by Romance Writers of America. Her books are available through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, itunes.com, and Kobobooks.com.

Outside of writing, Inglath is actively involved in dog rescue, working with The Franklin County Humane Society to place dogs and cats in need of rehoming. She volunteers her time in every capacity possible: serving on the Board of Directors, fundraising, photographing dogs and cats available for adoption and serving as a foster home. “Helping an abused or neglected dog go on to have a wonderful life with a family who loves them is more rewarding than I can possibly say.”

Part four takes up where part three left off. CeCe, Thomas, Holden, Beck and Case have been shot after a show by a crazed, irate fan that never made it in the music business. One of them will not make it. What the shooter leaves behind in his wake is the grief that those left behind do not know how to deal with, the guilt of living when others have died. As they struggle to become whole again the record company pushes them to complete the obligations that they signed up for.

This one was an emotional read because they are each struggling in their own way and are going it alone for so much of the book rather than to rely on each other, each of them just kind of going through the motions but not really seeing what’s around them. Thankfully this book does have a happy ending though and while it’s not so much a cliffhanger, it does end abruptly like the others did. I cried a little, laughed a little, but at the end of the book I was so happy. I cannot wait to read how Thomas falls in love; however, I hope we don't lose CeCe and Holden. I would love for there story to continue as well. I also loved the path chosen for Case. He could have a book of his own. If you like music this series of books is awesome! Inglath Cooper includes songs she has wrote herself in each book. This aspect of these books really draws me in, because writing a book is hard but writing a song to go with the book is a whole different aspect. It is really awesome! I will be continuing onto book five because these books and this series is an awesome pick-me-up to a long week.

Not sure if it’s just me but this book seemed like it was shorter than the others but Goodreads states that it’s 135 pages. I couldn’t find out when Part 5 will come out but it looks as though Thomas will finally find his CeCe, only her name is Lila.

Holy Cliffhanger.. This book takes place right after the shooting. After the last concert a jealous fan shoots, Beck, Thomas, Holden and CeCe.
***SPOILER** Beck does not make it. Holden is in coma for weeks. Thomas and CeCe fair the best physically of the four. CeCe is not taking Beck's death very well. Right before the last concert, he found her with Beck and it wasn't a pleasant parting for the two and she blames herself for the way it ended. She goes back to Nashville without Thomas and Holden for the funeral. The boys finally recover and come back to Nashville, hounded by the media. CeCe is very distant, from Thomas and more from Holden. He doesn't know how to get her back. Before the incident, he asked her to marry him. Can Holden break down the walls she built and get his old CeCe back. Can they recover from this ordeal.
Can't wait for book five, Thomas needs his own book, what a great character he is.

Part 4 – 5 Happy Ever After Stars

Pleasure in the Rain brought just that, pleasure. We have a happy ending for CeCe and Holden. Triangles don’t normally end without a bitter word being said, hatred being spread, and someone ending up a tad bit psycho but this one did – and I thank Ms. Cooper for that. Barefoot Outlook is up and coming and are going to make it big. Despite some of the heartache in part 4 this is a sweet happy ever after and it leads up to Thomas’s (my boyfriend through this whole series) story. I hope and pray he finds a woman as worthy of love as he. I can’t find enough words to recommend this series to everyone. I absolutely adore Inglath Cooper and her writing style. It’s so tangible and so heart wrenching. She has a fan for life in me!

I waited for this installment for weeks! I even signed up on the authors website to receive updates and the newsletters, lol!! Part 4 didn't not disappoint, it was a lot more emotional than the first three installments though. Can't wait for part 5, I finally get to read Thomas' story! I've been in love with him since book one! ;) haha!!! He's been my favorite all along.

Side note.... I just love the love, kindness and respect is shown for dogs in this series, it's even really cute how CeCe wants to marry her dog Henry.

I loved reading the wonderful, heartbreaking, sorrowful, happy, romantic, contemporary love story, Pleasure in the Rain by Inglath Cooper, fourth book in the series.
Pleasure in the Rain continues with the aftermath of the shooting that occurred after Case's concert. After being shot, Holden, CeCe, and Thomas struggle to get better, heal their relationships with each other, and sing together as a group even though a member of their band is missing.
Read the highly recommended, well written, phenomenal, romantic, love story, Pleasure in the Rain by the remarkable writer Inglath Cooper.

I know I haven't said to much about the previous three books in this series but that's because I find it hard to really judge a story before it is finished.
My rating for book 4 and this series overall is only a 3 star. To be honest there were some inconsistencies throughout the series. The huge time gaps were bothersome.
And even though the story was very emotional especially towards the end and it made me cry....I still didn't love the writing. I'm not really sure I can pinpoint why but it just felt a bit unbelievable to me.

Emotional and bittersweet. I have enjoyed each new addition to Cooper's "Nashville" series and "Pleasure in the Rain" didn't disappoint. It wasn't quite what I was expecting -- more in the style it was presented than in the story itself. There was a wonderfully sweet present day happy-ever-after; but I will be interested in knowing what happens in the years to come.

The series will continue with Thomas's story in May 2014 (way too long to wait in my opinion!).

I really enjoyed this series of novellas. The story of CeCe, Holden and Thomas continues in part four-after the shooting. Several people were hurt in the shooting at the end of part three and it changes everyone involved. I really don't want to give the ending away but I will say that I was happy with it- a bit sappy, but extremely well written. I'm a fan.

Pleasure in the Rain: Nashville part 4 is by Inglath Cooper. This book finds Thomas, Holden, Case, CeCe, and Beck having been shot by Jared Ryner, a manic music stalker. He was very upset that no one had picked him up as an opening act and yet picked up the Barefoot Outlook after only a short time in Nashville. He crashed the Fan Appreciation party that Case had thrown and shot them and then himself.
Will they survive and will things ever be the same again? Holden dreams he is meeting CeCe and they are walking away towards a bright light when she turns back to see about Thomas. Then darkness returns.
CeCe is the first to recover; but she is wracked by guilt that she hadn’t done anything about the stalker when he first showed up. Then, when she discovers Beck didn’t make it, she feels guilty for haven broken up with him and broken his heart. Her guilt was so bad that she left the hospital against doctor’s wishes and went to Beck’s funeral even though she felt Case wouldn’t want her there. She left without seeing Thomas or Holden. At the funeral it seems her belief that Case wouldn’t want her there seemed true when one is his band members approached CeCe and her Mother at the back of the church. How would this new development make her feel?

I picked this series up for a reading challenge and instantly was hooked on Cece's story. I ended up binge reading the first five books in the series. I plan to finish the series in the future. I loved the story it's beautifully written. We are introduced to Holden and Thomas who rescue her on her way to Nashville. They have this instant spark and chemistry that sends them down a whirlwind adventure as they all reach for their dreams of making it as singers. This is my first series by the author but I'm hooked on her writing style.

This installment was hard to read. I didn't want to start it because I knew it wouldn't end well for someone and I had a feeling I knew who that was. And I was right. It tells the aftermath of a tragedy and how all that were involved were impacted and how they are handling it. CeCe and Holden are like strangers and everyone is devastated in a different way. Will they ever get an HEA or is fate against them? Keep tissues handy!

This segment of the story is primarily taken up with recovery from the traumatic events at the end of the last volume, so the music industry events are somewhat swamped by the tragedy, although somehow our trio continues to advance their careers nonetheless. The fantasy continues.

Pleasure in The Rain takes us on tour with the group. The tour is going well. CeCe, Holden and Beck choose to be professionals and put the show first. They are will put their personal feelings aside for the time being, but tension runs high.

During an after party the group comes under attack by a jealous gunman. All three members of Barfoot Outlook are shot as well as Beck and his father. One person does not survive the attack and the other four struggle to heal both physically and mentally.

This book takes us through the inner turmoil a shooting victim might face. The survivors all handle this turmoil in different ways and at different speeds. Seeing this played out on the page is very emotional.

I've become inthralled with CeCe, Holden and Thomas's story. I have to know what happens next to this group of friends.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Pleasure in the Rain is part four of the Nashville series by Inglath Cooper. These characters live a crazy roller coaster of a life, and this book has been the most emotional of them all. They are each coping the best they know how, but emotional wedges are formed between them. I've grown so attached to these people, so it was hard to see them this distraught and out of sorts with each other and life. This felt like the longest of the four parts so far(probably because it was emotional), but I think I read it the quickest.

Pleasure in the Rain by Inglath Cooper was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Pleasant surprise

Pleasant surprise

I recently purchased a Kindle. I looked at the specials, always looking for a bargain. I tried inglath Coopers' first Nashville novella. I just finished the fourth in the wonderful series in a matter of less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. the characters were very real to me. I am going to try other ebooks by this author.

I paid for her advertising!!!!

Read the 4 part novellas because I saw a good review for them. That must have been from her publisher because it was more like paying for her to advertise all the other books she wrote. Sad thing is I wasn't interested in them I was trying to finish the VERY short story of 3 characters trying to make it in Nashville. Spent $ 9.98 on all 4 books and read 1 3 star short story and a lot of advertising. Don't waste your time or money.

I was glad to get past the cliffhanger at the end of part 3 of this story and have everything wrap up nicely for Holden and Cece. It was nice to read a story where the love triangle is resolved to everyone's satisfaction, the characters go through some life changing events and actually change because of them. A satisfying read.

Yikes. Scary and sad and so real. Some of the things the preacher said made me teary thinking about a loss I have suffered not all that long ago.

This was such a short addition (and yes I realize it does say it's a novella) I feel kind of robbed having to pay the same amount for it as I did the previous parts. Happy ending of course. But I still feel shorted.

I really enjoyed the series.

We get to live the hard paths this group travel, how life changes them, and how they get to overcome the hurt of losing someone and living with the fear a life threatening situation.

Cece has a hard time accepting that life goes on and finally lets herself be happy with holden.

Overall a nice story
