This novella has many familiar tropes - the delicate human heroine to whom bad things happen because she is just so beautiful and looks so innocent, The alpha male vampire with his "touch her and die" attitude and chronic self-hatred.
Dani and Corbin act like teenagers with their angst and drama and various body parts getting hard all the time. What they do not do is talk to each other, choosing instead to keep things secret, things that come back to mess up their plans and hurt their feelings exactly as we know they will.
The writing isn't polished, the descriptions aren't detailed, and many parts needed an editor because they get repetitive. For example, a character is described as "the Greek" several times, Dani bursts into tears several times, Corbin tells himself he can't have her several times, Dani says she is going to get her revenge several times . . . you get the drift. Considering this is a 100 page novella, I would expect there to be less repetition.
All in all, there is very little to separate The Vampire's Hunter to hundreds of other, better written vampire and human love stories.
