I loved the idea of bird themed poems and I can see that either she has a familiarity with birds or otherwise did a lot of research. normally I love quotes that go with poems that give a context for inspiration and also tie them into a broader cultural context however I found the highly biblical references were a bit off putting and I didn't feel as if the poems really went deeper with them.
