Loving Chris Henderson would be wrong. Diabolically disastrous. I mean, what is there about him to love? He’s moody, bossy, brooding, a control freak, and that’s on a good day … but there was one achingly obvious fact that haunted my every thought, every minute of every day …

He sure could kiss.

As the countdown to the new millennium begins, there is one thing everyone a

I don't know how C.J. Duggan does it, but she did it again! That One Summer is once again, a perfect read. At this point, I can honestly say that I'll read anything this author writes and love it, and for me, that is a rare thing with NA contemporary authors.

This book follows Chris Henderson, Amy's oldest cousin and her best friend Tammy Maskala. Everybody is set for a road trip to celebrate New Year's Eve away from Onslow and while this

I loved Chris and Tammy's journey. They take a road trip with the rest of the Onslow gang where they fall in love with each other. Their book was my favorite story of the whole series so far, as they were able to spend the whole book together.

What I loved:
1. Road trip.
2. Chris and Tammy journey the whole way there and back alone together.
3. The Onslow Gang and the new addition of Bell, Stan's GF.
4. The Ending.
5. I loved that they camped most of their trip.
6. New Years Eve.
7. Late night ocean swi

I fell in love with the Onslow boys the first time I met them in The Boys of Summer (book #1). My favorite Onslow boy is still Toby, but I do have to say that Chris is my second. I loved Chris so much in the first book. Chris and Toby are so much alike. Both guys are moody, bossy and sexy as heck. But I think Chris is more broody than Toby. Chris is also a control freak, which despite how it sounds, can be good when it comes to the ladies. Just ask Tammy. ;)

THAT ONE SUMMER is also my second fav

This series is one of my favorite fun NA contemporaries. I initially fell in love with CJ Duggan's series when I read The Boys of Summer.. set in the 1990s in the summer and in Australia.. it was the perfect relaxing and fun setting I've read. Now two books later, the spark hasn't left this series with That One Summer. Road trip contemporary fans, this book is for you. Set in the last days of 1999, we are transported back in time and witness the countdown to the new millennia. I was only 9 years ...more

This is book 3 in the ‘summer’ series, but can be read as a standalone.
Tammy doesn’t really like Chris does she? She doesn’t really want to go on a camping trip does she? Tammy is the last person to know the answers to these questions, but she’s about to find out soon enough.

Once again I was expecting this book to be good, and I ended up disappointed.

CJ has done it once again! That One Summer has a mix of everything in it. What I loved the most though, was the group of friends, their friendly banter and the way we still got to see the characters from the first two books...which I also loved. But this one I was looking forward to the most, I mean who doesn't love a broody hot male...ME, and Cj done wonders with Chris. She'll make you fall in love with, not only him, but all of them. Cj will also leave you wanting and waiting for more from her ...more

This was hella sweet and adorable. Takes me back in time with that late 90s Aussie vibe. Duggan never disappoints. Full review to come on blog tour.

First a huge thanks to C.J Dugan for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

How should is start? I feel in love with Onslow boys when I read the first book in the series, I remember that I kept telling myself I’ll read just one last chapter…the last thing I knew I had finished the book and I was two hours away from the time I had to get up for work….it was totally worth it. Then I thought the sequel could never be as good as the first book…I was so wrong it was even bette

I gotta say- no one does Aussie NA like C.J. Duggan. Having enjoyed reading the two other Summer books before this, I was very much looking forward to That One Summer. Duggan does her romance so very well and makes you swoon a helluva lot. That One Summer did not disappoint- Chris and Tammy’s love story was real romantic!

Truth be told, I was wary of Tammy as the main character for That One Summer. I was

All the characters were so great and I’m tempted to go back and read the first two
the relationships between everyone were just so sweet 😍

A hilarious, enticing love story that had me captivated from the very first sentence! I started reading TOS at midnight, so imagine my surprise when C.J started off the story in a setting of pitch blackness. I was definitely worried about having nightmares especially when this sentence popped up “One, two, Freddie’s coming for you… Three, four, better lock your door.” Yep visions of Freddie Kruger popped into my mind at that point. But anyway, what I found the most enjoyable about this novel was ...more

Good gracious, I love this series. I practically inhaled this book.

That One Summer follows the same group of Australian friends as the previous two installments. It takes place in 1999, just as New Year's Eve is approaching, as the Onslow Boys and their respective girlfriends and friends-that-are-girls are making plans for how they want to ring in the new millennium. They decide that they want to take a long road trip, complete with camping along with way and fireworks as the clock strikes midn

I knew this tender side to him was not always front and present, that it was often overshadowed by the equally brooding, bossy, moody part of him. But I couldn't help but be completely and utterly in awe of all that was Chris. To me, he was bloody near-on perfect.

Chris Henderson!!! Wow!! Just wow!!! I thought that I had this complete and all consuming love for one Onslow boy. Then, next thing I know I'm in love with two. But now I just need to come clean and say that I'm a floozy. After read

So if you guys have been around ANY time at all, you know how much I ADORE CJ. She was the first author I contacted to ask for an ARC and I had such an amazing experience. (Check out my link above to The Boys of Summer. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE both of her previous books and was so excited to dive back into this series!

ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

This is another Osnlow Boy romance.

We all know about Chris Henderson. He is the one that behave as an adult since the first Summer book. He is the responsible one. He also likes to be in charge.
Tammy Maskala is Amy's best friend. Now, that she is back in Onslow she is invited to every outing the gang does.

Counting down to the new millennium, Tammy Maskala is hitting the road with her group of friends, leaving their sleepy Australian town behind and heading for the ultimate New Year's bash at Point Shank.  Maybe.

Feeling a little like an outsider among her friends, all cute couples and outgoing fun, she hesitates to join them, waiting so long to decide that they've already left without her.  Fortunately -- or perhaps unfortunately -- Chris planned on driving out later, so Tammy's only choice if she

I have no idea how C.J. Duggan does it. This is the third book in the Boys of Summer series, and I am head over heels in love with the Onslow boys! When I read the first book, I thought this is the cutest couple ever. There is no way I am going to like any other couple as much as this one. And then I read the second book, and it took awhile, but I ended up thinking the same thing. And then I read That One Summer. This book is Tammy and Chris' story. Tammy had a problem – she could not make up her mind. The New Year was fast approaching and she couldn’t decide if she’d stay home at Onslow or go on a road trip with her friends to Point Shank. When she finally decided to go, she discovered that most of her friends had already left for the trip. Her only option, if she still wanted to go, was to ride on the black panel van owned by Chris Henderson. Would this mark the beginning of a disastrous adventure for her?

Tammy didn’t dislike Chris but sh

What can I say, I am loving this series! Duggan once again has me glued to the pages to get my fill of sun, beaches and yes romance.

I found that in this third installment that the romance turned back to what I love so much about Duggan's writing. Instead of the constant fighting turned attraction that was Sean and Amy's story, this was more like Toby and Tess' story. Dark, unreadable Chris with stolen glances and actions with a millio

Who would you recommend 'That One Summer' to?

Readers who enjoy very casual, very slow build romances.

Should I read the others in the series first?
Hmm, maybe. I read this one first, it can be read as a stand-alone. What you miss out on is knowing the side characters in detail.

How were the lead characters?
Good, solid. Though they didn't stand-out for me.
The hero was a little broody, hard to read, self cont

Really loved this addition to the series. Each time round I get a new fav Onslow boy - this time is no different!! Loved Chris and was so happy to read his story, since he is usually so much in the background. He is a wonderful character, and I think that Tammy was perfect for him.
