Barbara's love of writing developed out of a love of reading. Growing up in an all-boy neighborhood, she spent quite a bit of time reading through her mother's large library, many of which were romantic novels. After graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara, she went into Public Relations, but soon discovered that writing was her true passion.

Barbara was traditionally published for many years, then formed her own publishing company FOG CITY PUBLISHING in 2011 and has since sold over 10 million books! She has published 75 novels ranging from mystery thrillers to romantic suspense and contemporary romance.

Her book SUMMER SECRETS was a #1 New York Times bestseller! And twenty-five other novels have also appeared on the New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Lists. She is currently writing two ongoing series, a contemporary romance series set in Whisper Lake and a romantic suspense series: Off The Grid: FBI Series. She is also known for her bestselling Callaway Family Series, which offers up fourteen books and two novellas.

When Barbara isn't writing or publishing, which isn't very often these days, she is playing tennis, hanging out with friends and family in beautiful Lake Tahoe or reading books!

I haven't read a Barbara Freethy book I don't love. Emma has been one of my favorite characters so far. So when I head she was writing her wedding story I knew I had to read it. I definitely was not disappointed. The chemistry between Spencer and Hallie in the bank was exceptionally good. I can't wait to hear more of there story and can't wait for book five. Sean and Jessica are becoming my next favorite couple can't wait for there story.

Emma and Max are finally going to get married with a few glitches in the way. Loved the secondary story of Spencer and Hallie, two people with pasts that need to move forward in life. Even though a short story, it is packed full with drama and suspense that you don't want to pass up. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

This was an easy night reading and just when you thought you knew what was going to happen your on the roller coaster ride, I liked it but am not a fan of the novellas not when a good author like Ms Freethy writes really great full length books.

It's always exciting to revisit the Callaway world. This novella centers around Emma and Max.
what excitement. The story takes place on one day. Their wedding day. The emotional day
runs the gambit from absolute joy to terror, laughter to tears. A great read.

This was a good story. It was really short and to the point but not without some drama first. I was happy for the ending and look forward to the story of the Callaway's continuing.

I absolutely loved Nobody But You by Barbara Freethy. It is a novella in the Callaways series. Each book in the series keeps getting better. I could not put it down and I loved every page. Who doesn't love big families, hot men, strong women, and love stories? Barbara Freethy continues to show that she is an incredible storyteller. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Nobody But You is a love at first sight love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments. Nobody But You is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Barbara Freethy love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Nobody But You is the story of Hallie Prescott and Spencer Harrison, Max’s brother who was recently released from prison. Hallie and Spencer meet in the money exchange line at the bank on Emma and Max’s wedding day. Hallie is leaving within hours to escape to a tropical beach and just relax, Max wants to exchange some money to have for his surprise Parisian honeymoon with Emma. While Max steps away, Hallie and Spencer start talking and he invites her to get coffee when she returns from her trip. Things at the bank do not go as planned and Max ends up getting show in an attempted bank robbery. Hallie and Spencer work together to save Max’s life. Barbara Freethy kept me guessing as to how they were going to get out of the bank and whether Max would survive. My favorite parts of the story are the moments that Emma shares with her grandmother, Eleanor, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and talking to Nicole about inviting her biological father to the wedding. I love the bittersweet moments when Emma and Max reunite in the hospital and how Emma suggests that Spencer and his Mom see Max. I love that Barbara Freethy writes about strong women with their own careers and the hot men who are attracted to them for more than just their looks. I love that Emma and Max eventually get their wedding, maybe not the extravaganza that they originally planned, but a simple wedding at the courthouse. Afterall, they were more excited about the marriage and not just the wedding. I was so happy that Hallie decided to stay and not runaway and that Spencer is getting a second chance at life and love. I love the Callaways and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Nobody But You felt like a family reunion of sorts, because you get to catch up with all the Callaways. I love that all the Callaways and the way that they always support their family. Once again, I really enjoyed the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists that I have come to love and expect in a Barbara Freethy book. I love how Hallie and Spencer reunited with one another and all the emotionally charged conversations they had. I thoroughly enjoyed Nobody But You, who does not love big loving families and dynamics of those families. I really loved the ending and the happily ever afters.

Nobody But You: A Callaway Wedding Novella: The Callaways is by Barbara Freethy. This novella is one of Barbara’s better works, although all of them are great. This one takes us behind the scenes to one of the Callaway weddings. No one expected Emma to get married as soon as she is; but when love strikes a Callaway, it sticks. No one expected this wedding to turn out the way it did.
Emma was dressed and ready at the church to finally marry her love, Max. He was then taking her on a honeymoon with the destination undisclosed even to Nicole who packed her bags. However, Emma wasn’t worried about that, she was worried that her brother Sean wouldn’t make it in time. He had promised but was caught in a snowstorm. Hopefully, he would make it. Nicole was not worried about Sean; but about Max and his brother, Spencer who had not shown up either. Emma told her not to worry as she had talked to Max and he was ready to marry her, they just got hung up somewhere.
Emma’s world was about to come to a halt as Max’s Mother and her step-Dad, Jack Callaway came into the room with expressions on their faces that foretold something bad had happened.
Would Emma’s world right itself?

Talk about wedding jitters!! Emma and Max are a great couple and my favorite so far in this family series. This novella looks at their wedding day and something goes awry and in a monumental fashion. Also the family is there and Spencer is showcased as well. It was great to see action and romance with Spencer in a staring role. Emma and Max were also shown differently bc they were not the crime fighters this time and their emotions were more present. A quick and great read!

This is the wedding novella book for Emma and Max. On the way to the wedding, however, there is a robbery situation at a bank and Max is shot. I really loved the high stakes in this novella as everyone is worried for Max’s life, and also the HEA for Max’s brother Spencer with Hallie. This was a quick, cute read and I continue to enjoy the series and look forward to seeing which couple in the Callaways will be up next. 5/5 stars.

Short, heart-felt story

This novella has the excitement and angst surrounding the wedding of Max and Emma. We also see the beginning of the romance of Spencer and Hallie. It is an entertaining novella.

The Callaways

This is the 4th in a long line of books in this series. Max and Emma are meant to be together. Spencer and his new friendship with Hattie was a bonus. I will get to the next book to this series.

I loved this one, it was a roller coaster ride. The wedding of Emma and Max has been looked forward to with great anticipation. A quick trip to the bank has us on the edge of our seats and also introduces us the Specner & Hallie, an added bonus. A real emotion packed novella.

This is a short story about the wedding of Emma and Max and the problems they face. Emma asked as she is getting ready “what could go wrong?” And she found out that you should never question fate. Very good novella that starts another story of the Callaway family, Spencer and Hallie.
