Married at sixteen, a mother twice by seventeen, and thrice a mother and divorced by twenty-four, Adrienne Thompson is no stranger to adversity. Not your typical teenage mother, she went on to complete her college degree and to earn her nursing license. She attributes God's faithfulness as the catalyst for her success in life. Now, having raised three children as a divorced mother, she is sharing a long hidden talent and passion with the world. Using the lessons that life has so expertly taught her as a guideline (betrayal, abusive relationships, self-esteem issues, witnessing the deteriorating effects of drug abuse), she has created stories that will both entertain and inspire the reader.

Adrienne currently resides in Arkansas in her newly empty nest. Formerly an RN, she now writes and publishes her stories full time. She is also a motivational speaker.

While the dynamics of the book was told very well the book was boring and quite repetitive. This book is about a young child who ran away from home because of rape and abuse just to run into the arms of another rapist and abuser. I know that this story is very relevant so I don’t want to dismiss the book but at the same time the writing of the book was flat and simple.

This is part of the Been So Long Series and I hope that the next books will step it up to at least a rating of 3 or better.

He was everything good and everything bad all rolled into one. It wasn't until the bad began to outweigh the good that I decided to break free. - "G."

These were words that so many women (and men) can't find the strength to say. Get reacquainted w/Cleo in her own life tragedy as she embarks on her journey from childhood to adulthood. Will she ever find peace & comfort or will her past stifle her future?... This series is one that gives you an unforgettable story line w/amazingly resilient characters. One you certainly won't forget. Well done Adrienne.

After reading Been So Long you can't help but be curious to know what happened to Cleo & Ms. Thomas didn't disappoint in telling Cleo's story. Her writing style made the emotions real. I couldn't help but feel for those who live and keep reliving the abuse they suffered . Thanks for tackling some of the hard issues as you always do. Can't wait to read the next book.

Adrienne Thompson doesn't write happy books, but her characters are survivors and you definitely feel like you are on their journey with them, whatever that journey may be. And at the end of the journey, you're inspired and feel that with faith and trust in God, you can make it through to the other side (at least, that's how I always feel!). As usual, this story was gripping and definitely took me through a range of emotions. I'm this story was pretty short, because I honestly felt like I was holding my breath the entire time, worried about what was gonna happen next.

I won't rehash what the book was about to make sure that I don't give anyway, but I will say that this is a really good story, with complex characters in extremely difficult situations, written by a great author. Check it out!

Roller Coaster

OMG!!! WHERE shall I began. Ms.Thompson took us on a roller coaster of a ride in Sisters... Cleo's story is filled by trauma and tragedy. At the young age of 12 she decided she could no longer live in a house without it being a home. She runs away from home, no where to go, no family to call and no one to provide or protect her. Cleo decided that going no where filled with uncertainty was better than staying home with an alcoholic unfit mother... Cleo wasn't aware that meeting Frank would change her life forever......

An excellent companion to the Been So Long series. The book tells the story of the sister who ran away from an emotionally abusive home at age 12 only to be caught in a more abusive circumstance with man who befriends her, provides the loving home she has never experienced and then takes advantage of her innocence and neediness. We meet her again as a adult, happily married with two children until a call from the sister she left behind brings long-repressed memories to the surface. The story is well written and immediately engaging. For me it also answers the question in the first book of the Been So Long series. but don't worry the books stand well alone. You WILL however, want to read the other books including Rapture and Been So Long 2.

Little Sister was even better than Been So Long........in this story we meet Cleo, Mona Lisa's long lost sister. She has a loving Husband and three beautiful kids...but life for Cleo has been no crystal stair. She has endured even worse abuse than what she ran away from but she has survived. The call she received from Mona made her past start revealing itself back to her.....and she is left to fight for her sanity. When a guy gets hired at her place of employment that reminds her of the man she narrowly escaped from that abused her for 4 years of her life she is determined to put him behind bars once and for all. Adrienne threw a couple of twists in the story I DID NOT see coming and once again wrote a stellar book. I can't wait to read Been So Long II.

Cleo is the little sister of Mona. Cleo ran away from home at the age of twelve. Cleo ran away because of the abuse at home. Cleo was picked up by a man that took care of her for two years, before abusing her. Cleo and her son were able to escape from her abuser. Cleo met an angel (Scott), who helped her and her son. Cleo became Scott’s wife and they lived a good life, until Cleo started having nightmares and dreams of her past.

Great read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It grabbed you from beginning to end! After reading Rapture and Been So Long, I wanted to know what became of Cleo and did she have a story to tell. You became emotionally engaged. You cried with her and ultimately you rejoiced for her. So far this has been the best one for me.

This book was border line horrible. I couldn't wait to finish it... The authors lame attempt to shock us at the end was insulting to me. I read her book Been So Long & expected the same or better caliber of writing but I was thoroughly disappointed. Don't waste your time with this one.

Good

Nice prequel to learn about Cleo's history and what happened to her after she left home. A little more to be desired but a nice backdrop of her life.
