A Texas Legacy series is a series of four books, of which this Christmas tome is the last. I read this without reading the previous three books and did not have any problems following the storyline. I could see that there was some history hinted at, but the missing parts did not in any way detract from the book. In addition, this author is well known and has written about 50 books altogether. Her usual genre is Christian suspense filled with tension and terse relationships. While A Texas Lega ...more

So many themes that I could discuss. Forgiving those who've done you harm: both the twins and Chloe have to forgive the school bully for things he did and said to them. They also learn his family history which makes them more understanding of the things he did.

Abandonment: Chloe experienced it as a child and later realizes that her childhood experience is what allows her to bond with the twins Zack adopts as well as what gives her compassion for others who don't have others to help them.

I have to preface this by saying that this book doesn’t align with my interests so THAT is why it wasn’t my cup of tea. Not because the writing was poor or because it was offensive in any way. The writing was absolutely fine and I found her style enjoyable.

A sweet Christmas romance. Nice to see Zach Kahler all grown-up and navigating fatherhood with those precious & hilarious twins he's adopted, and pursuing romance with childhood friend Chloe Weaver.

A nice end to the Texas Legacy series.

Sexual harassment occurred long before that term existed. In this story, Chloe must deal with sexual harassment from her boss who wants to marry her. Add her school teacher, Miss Scott, who is the teacher you wished you had. Then there is Simon who is a great cook but probably more important--a wise man.

Zack [from book 1 of this series] who loves the Lord & find he can love a set of twins. Zack & Chloe have known each other since childhood. Even then he was helping her. Add Zack's loving family

This book covered a number of topics: unwanted children, racism, parental abuse as well as the love of family, friends, a spouse, and God. It was a nice book to read at this hectic time of year.
Plot: Zack Kahler leaves New York with 6 year old twins he has unthinkingly agreed to adopt. Chloe Weaver has always been an outcast who is now succeeding in her work at the boarding house. Now Zack has returned to his hometown--he like her; she likes him. Can they get together??
It was a cute, quick Christmas read but a bit slow-paced. This is the fourth book in the series, and I think perhaps if I had read the previous books first I would have felt more of a connection with the characters.

This one takes a slow pace throughout the book towards the inevitable. No big surprises here. Other than the slow-paced romance, there is a side-theme regarding the plight of orphans of that era and of child abuse and neglect. Although it was a slow walk in the park, the trip was enjoyable.

This book was extremely cliche and not in the least bit believable. I was disappointed because I really enjoyed several other books by the author.
