I remembered seeing the TV series of this years ago so when I discovered it had been a book first I knew I had to give it a read. It's very cute and funny. Whizziwig causes a lot of chaos but she's also a lot of fun (as long as you're not on the receiving end of a wish!). It's possible that the nostalgia factor played a part in my 4-star rating, but I'm sticking with it.

Whizziwig is the most entertaining, funny, furry bouncing little character. He has come from outer-space and landed on Ben’s roof. Ben is initially frightened but very quickly gets excited about this creature who is a ‘wish giver’.

But what does it really mean to be a ‘wish giver’? In the case of Whizziwig it means that all wishes must be for someone else.

The results are always hilarious and often strange. Imagine saying that someone is a jackass and that is exactly what they turn into …. or saying that you wish your friend was a little lighter and they float to the roof …. and the wishes don’t disappear quickly.

Any age-group will enjoy this book …. it’s a delight.
