I am so glad to be back in Beartooth! Daniels welcomes readers back to her world with open arms & a tale that just couldn’t get much better.

Daniels takes off running with suspense from the very first sentence. She kept me riveted to the pages with her intricately plotted tale. She gets quite in-depth about the possibilities, probabilities, and theories behind and involved in this tale. Daniels not only entertained me, but also made me think and weigh the various possible outcomes of the tal

This is the fifth book in the Beartooth, Montana series. Each book can be read as a stand alone novel. So you can jump into this series now with Mercy or read then all starting with Unforgiven. This book had the right amount of romance and mystery. My issues were that Callie did not connect with me right away like Rourke did. Also, the story seemed to drag because it seemed like while nothing was literally repeated, it did seem to repeat itself. When it came to the mystery. For someone as smart ...more

Recommends it for: Everyone..A "not-to-be-missed" book..

U.S. Marshall Rourke Kincaid is sure that there is more to the cols case of the unsolved murders that happened in various towns in the month of October every year till two years ago. Sure about his instincts but not supported by his office, he goes rogue and undercover and is led to the remote, isolated and wild town in Beartooth, Montana. A fragile looking, beautiful waitress, Callie Westfield who works in an unassuming cafe in this small and insignifican
Excellent book that kept me riveted from beginning to end. It starts out with Rourke fascinated by a cold case he has been working on. With a closer look he sees a connection to two other cases, but no one else believes there's anything to it. So Rourke takes a couple weeks vacation and pursues his suspicions on his own.

Rourke has never had any trouble trusting his instincts, and those are telling him there's more to Callie Westfield than he first suspected. His initial thought had been that she

First I would like to thank Goodreads Giveaways for the free book. Mercy by B.J. Daniels is a Romantic Suspense. To be honest I think it would make a terrific movie. Very questionable suspense.
I had to keep reading to answer some of the questions I had going on.

I can't possibly begin to name all the characters in the book. The main male was Rourke. He was the main focal point. Rourke used to be a Seattle homicide policeman, now US Marshal. His case sent him to Montana, where he meets the main

Although, I pre-ordered this book, I saved it until I had uninterrupted time to read it yesterday. I am glad that I followed my instincts. I am operating on 3 hours of sleep this morning but am still walking around with a smile on my face!

The story took hold of me and I couldn't put it down. Second Sight made this story a winner!

Mercy is the fifth book in author B.J. Daniels’ Beartooth, Montana Series and admittedly the first book of her that I have read. I had no trouble reading it as a standalone novel. Well, after this intense and surreptitious rollercoaster ride, I have added Ms. Daniels to my go-to author list. This book was incredible!

You could say that U.S. marshal Rourke Kincaid has gone off the grid. He’s gone rogue, so to speak, and is using his suspension from the force to dig deeper into a possible serial ki

It's always fun to find a new author and B.J. Daniels is quickly becoming a favorite. Sure she has been around for a while but for me she is brand new! She doesn't just write cowboy stories and she doesn't just write Suspense.. Nope she writes Cowboy Suspense and it's amazing!

Mercy is Book Five in Ms. Daniel's Beartooth Mountain Series and it's absolutely brilliant. A mystery wrapped in a whodunnit! Worth every heart stopping mome

I love the way that BJ Daniels draws you in with the first few pages of her books. She also sets the theme for the story line of the book. For MERCY she sets the scene by letting you feel the terror of being tied up alone and helpless with a murderer. Then Rourke Kincaid comes on the scene searching for an illusive serial killer in a cold case of his ex partners, Laura Fuller. He seeks Laura's help on doing a profile of lady serial killers. He feels there is something not quite right about Laura ...more

This book is amazing! Exciting! Suspenseful! Mysterious! Dangerous! Compelling! Deadly!

I could use a million words and still not describe how incredibly brilliant this book is. It’s a sophisticated thriller that had so many dangerous curves I didn’t think Rourke and Callie were going to make it out alive. Did they? Well, you’ll have to read the book to find out the answer.

The characters are intricately crafted and the plot is mind-blowing. The romance was subtle but not understated and the exci

I love B.J. Daniel's suspense novels and with Mercy I think she outdid herself. I got shivers reading it and even though I though I knew the guilty party Daniels has been know plant false clues and fool me. Rourke Kincaid is a new character in the series. He comes to Beartooth from Seattle looking for a serial killer and he thinks Callie Westfield is involved in some way. He is attracted to Callie making his job much harder. Look for high degrees of tension as the past comes back to influence th ...more

I just finished reading "Mercy" by B.J. Daniels. I recommend this author and all her books. To coin a couple of phrases Mercy is a book you won't be able to put down and it'll keep you on the edge of your seat. If you love romance novels and a good murder mystery/suspense novel you will love Mercy. The hero, Rourke, is investigating a cold case murder (you will not believe who done it) and his main suspect is getting to him. Will he fall in love with a killer or victim? Read the book! B.J. In the process of reopening a cold murder case, U.S. Marshal Rourke Kincaid tracks down Callie Westfield, a seemingly harmless small town waitress who might have ties to a serial killer- or might be the killer herself.
This is my first visit to Beartooth, Montana and my first Daniels book as well, and boy was it fun! I enjoyed the romance, the tangled mystery, the touch of crazy and the happy ending. I’m already planning ano

This is the last in this series but fortunately there are more books about Beartooth, Montana. I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this story and murders that had to be solved. Rourke Kincaid was a U.S. Marshall who had been put on dead cases because he was somewhat of a rebel. His old partner, Laura, had been involved in some unsolved murders that Rourke found fascinating and ran across some very important clues. He felt like he could solve these cases so he gave himself two weeks to see w ...more

A quick read for me but I was pulled in from the start. It had tragic, twists, turns, suspense but also love. The characters were all real as if we were friends. A well written and perfectly paced story.

Solid Suspense

A solid suspense novel. The characters were well defined and the plot worked. There were no surprises at the end, but the plot progression was logical.

This was a unique read for me. I didn't notice the genre was a mystery, if I had I probably wouldn't have gotten the book and the audio.

I truly was guessing who the serial killer was right up until the last couple of chapters. Some of the side characters annoyed me so I just jumped over the paragraphs/pages. So much so that I missed something that happened, and I'm not sure if what I missed was something good...LOL...

Usually I pay attention to the writing style, well I was so invested in to the

The fifth book in the Beartooth, Montana romantic suspense series and B.J. Daniels manages to bring a deceptively simple story of attraction and trust into the center of an investigation into a gruesome series of murders.

Callie is a pretty but quiet and timid woman who works as a waitress in the remote Montana town. Contrary to the expected, Callie is actually under investigation as a connection to the serial murderer, if not the murderer herself. It’s rather an interesting premise that is far

Each time I read one of these novels from this series I think geshh she has gone and done it can't get any better than this. Each one gets better and better with it always feeling like I returned there myself. So when I opened this one and it starts out in a different place with Rourke-US Marshall who is on his own time thanks to taking profound interest in a cold case that has what looks to be a serial killer I think oh my this is different. 2.5 stars. A disappointing addition to this series. It had it good points and I always enjoy seeing the old characters back, this one had problems.

U.S. marshal Rourke Kincaid comes to Beartooth to follow up on a cold case that caught his eye while on leave. A serial killer drugs men, ties them up, and kills them. His search brings him to Callie Westfield, as she's been at three of the crime scenes. Though her demeanor screams innocence, Rourke keeps pushing trying to find out what her involvemen

So I should not have read ‘Mercy’ in bed last night…after finishing it in the wee hours of this morning I laid in bed thinking of that book for hours...I wanted to blame BJ Daniels for writing such a book! But, alas, I knew it was my fault for reading it at night and allowing my imagination to get the best of me. (I should have known better…especially since I have read several of her books by now and know they are murder mysteries.)

I like the Beartooth Montana series, but the one story line that runs through the series always leave me wanting answers. The new story was good. I guessed a little bit of the twists but not all. I like Rourke and Callie and wanted things to work out for them. Lots of suspense, crazy stuff going on, action and romance.

U.S. Marshal Rourke Kincaid was on two week suspension to think about his job. He came to his ex-partner Laura to get her opinion.

I've read a lot of B.J's books and I can't believe she can continue to draw the reader into the book from the first paragraph and take you on a journey until the last paragraph! She does it again and again. Mercy is no different! She has so many fantastic characters that live in her books but I never get confused and I think that is B.J.'s amazing writing - to keep things organized and clear. In Mercy we get to go back to Beartooth again and see what's been happening but we get introduced to new ...more

Another great mystery from BJ Daniels! This trip back to Beartooth, Montana is a quick paced, multi-layered story intertwining several different stories that keep you turning pages to see what is going to happen next.
