Authors, speakers, and columnists Bill and Pam Farrel offer sound, simple-to-apply advice to help couples establish firm foundations for their relationships. Based on their own successful twenty-five-year-marriage, Bill (who is also a marriage counselor) and Pam have developed strong principles for staying the course when life challenges their relationship. This was a pretty good book with some solid information. Some of the tips were more general advice as opposed to counseling. For example, there is a section on how to buy a home, and what to look for in a mortgage broker. On top of that, though, there was a lot of good advice to consider for a newly married couple. One of my favorite tips was to be tender to your wife and tough on yourself. One critique would be that the authors tie sex into every topic, almost to a fault.

I had been married for almost three years as I read this book, and I found it to be a valuable resource. I bet it would be even more beneficial for those engaged or recently married.
