I loved this book, the second I started reading it. I really enjoyed how Jordan didn't give up and she kept pushing until received what she wanted. The plot was amazing and it struck me as though it were going on a roller coaster. I definitely rate this 5 stars.

Best book ever

It's been awhile since I've really been captured by a book but this book did the trick it adds just the right amount of humor suspense and even pain that it takes to make a great book I also loved the second book heart of shadow that I would like to thank the writer for giving out free.

Awesome and heart pounding!

The rocky road that Jordan goes down is tricky and dangerous. Everyone wants to either have or kill her. This book makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and their is plenty of power to last you a life time.

I loved this book right from the start, even though the "perspective" shifted from this time to that time a lot in the beginning (which made it a bit hard to follow everything that happened; but it made for a fantastic feeling of suspense...). I thought this book was great, fresh and a whole of a lot more positive things.

It was so easy rating this book since I think it's amazing.

I loved the plot to death, the beginning mysterious, the middle excellent (the best part of the whole book in my opini

This book is an emotional roller coaster in which I found myself staying up into the wee hours of the night to finish. That being said, the first book was really hard for me to get into. I found myself a quarter into the book confused (which makes sense since Jordan, the main character is confused) and trying to decide if I really wanted to finish it. Thankfully, I decided to continue due to the awesome writing style and main character. Jordan is a really complex yet amazingly bad ass heroine. S ...more

Wow Oh Wow!
This story can only be described as brilliant,a masterpiece.
My mind was racing from the moment I read the first page, this story goes full action from start to the end. I immediately fell in love with the characters and there stories. So much brilliance went into this story if I could crawl into this authors mind it would be an honor.
It's exciting fun emotional,oh emotional it's rare when an author can make you feel a characters pain and heartache to the core and laugh,I laughed my ass

I decided to not finish this book, mostly because I couldn’t get into it. I tried extremely hard and I think that is part of the problem. I grew up in abusive situations (more than one) and reading and feeling what she is going through is.. rough. The fear and the flashbacks and the all night paseing is described perfectly. The not trusting anyone but a very select few I still fight with. This author is good. Extremely good. But in this case, too good because reading this work is freaking me out ...more
This book needs so much - editing and grammar checks as well as fleshing out the back story a TON more. The characters are interesting, but the main character accepts there is a magical world too easily, and that is never explained. This book seems like it should be a book #2 in the series because there are too many holes in the plot to ignore. I kept contemplating not reading the rest of the book. The only saving grace is the likable characters. I will NOT, however, waste my time with any more ...more

This is a book that my sixteen year old granddaughter would love. The girl in it has many different problems that she needs to learn to deal with.

This book was sooo good!!! I was captivated the entire time and had a hard time putting it down!
This book is really tough to get a handle on at first. It jumps all around and it is difficult to really get a read on what is happening.

The story takes it's time unfolding, slowly sharing it's secrets. I really liked Jordan and wanted to love her story. There are just so many things that were either unanswered or took too long to reveal.

The fact that most of the book is from her POV limits how much the reader knows. We only get things as she does, which isn't quick. The world building was muc
I enjoyed this book quite a bit in the end. It took quite a while to get into it, as the reader is dropped into Jordan's confusing transition between the normal world and the magical. It doesn't help that her back story is only filled in as she fills in the other characters in the course of the book. But in the end, most of her history is filled in, and the world building of the magical world gets going. And then it ends.

Talk about a cliff-hanger ending, this book just stops. It did leave me wan

One day I saw that this book was free on kobo so I got it. I went into this without knowing anything at all. I thought the cover looked cool and it was YA so that was basically all I needed to know.

I first expected this to be just another quick free ebook read. But it totally wasn't when surten things happened I totally got into it. I started to love Jordan and Levi. They are wonderfull characters.

The plot was very good and it kept me reading and reading and I just couldn't stop when I got int

Birthright awesome

This is one of the best books that I have recently read. I am an avid reader and I absolutely love this book, it was hard for me to put it down. Taking me into a world of adventure and belief and the unknown. Finding a family an a new way of life that your not sure if you want to live it or hide. I can hardly wait for the next adventure. This book is great. Keep up the good work.

“The Gem doesn’t make mistakes.” “Gem?”  “The Gem decides who goes to what school, which Guide will rule each capital, who will be Warlord, the protector of our world. The Gem looks into your heart, into your power and sees your fate. It doesn’t make mistakes,” Cibrian said.  “The Gem is a person or thing?” Levi asked, frowning. “The Gem is- is a gem,” Cibrian said impatiently, waving his hands.  “So you guys let a rock rule your world?” Levi stared at Cibrian in disbelief.  “The Gem’s never led us astray.” “How can you let a damn rock decide who you’ll be?”  “When you meet the Gem, you’ll understand.” “I’m not letting a rock decide who I’ll be.” 0 likes
