Meet Amy Jackson. An outspoken, raunchy, in-your-face, loudly inappropriate ER Nurse who makes a career out of indulging.

One-night stands have always been her thing.

Commitment and relationships are two words that are not in her vocabulary.

Amy doesn't have dreams of soul mates and white picket fences. She adamantly refuses to even consider the idea of getting married and

I thought that The Infamous Ellen James, book #1 in the Infamous Series by N A Alc orn was a total hilarious read but the 2nd book in this series, Avoiding Amy Jackson, Ellen’s best friend, takes funny to the MAX…………..

I couldn’t help falling in love with this character…Amy Jackson is pure lovable. In-your--face, loud, obnoxious, commitment phobic….one-night stands are what she does best…forget relationships, love, marriage and all that white picket fence

It's Live!!!

This book is the tits. After reading, and loving her first book, I had no idea how N.A. was going to top it. But holy hell, she freaking did! In the Infamous Ellen James, you're introduced to Trent's superhero cock, and I was in a book boyfriend fog for days. I didn't think Trent could be replaced, but dammit, I fell so hard for James! He is no Robin to Trent's Batman. He's like the Hulk, Superman, and Captain America all rolled into one big ball of sexy manhood! And Amy? She's just

LOVED this story!

I had a crazy bought of insomnia last night, so I attempted to finish this book quietly without waking my husband up.
Needless to say.. I ended up waking him up because I was trying to hold my laughter in. I ended up snorting and literally crying (believe me, this was not pretty).
I think my absolute favorite scene in any book (to date) is the part of this book where Ellen is 9 months pregnant and attempting to do yoga with Amy (her best friend) and Lizzy (her sister). This is the

2.5 stars and have to say I'm extremely disappointed in this bk because I loved bk 1 so much. This isn't a bad story or a poorly written one. I just didn't like it. Amy is obnoxious, over the top - too much so, bossy, stubborn and selfish. She refers to the Hero who wants her as limp dick, idiot and asshole throughout the bk. It got old, especially after the 94% mark and the ILY's had been said and she's still calling him that. James, the Hero is crazy about Amy and even holds himself back in th ...more

Okay so I have to admit this book is off the hook! I loved every minute of it and I could not put it down. Dam Amy is feisty and rude and snarky all wrapped up into one. She is a fiery girl who knows what she wants when she wants it and she gets it. With every page she lit it up and had me laughing so hard at times because she was determined to do things her way.

Amy is an ER Nurse who is no nonsense girl on her job and in her personal life. She is surrounded by all these gorgeous doctors and her

"I can't believe you're going to be a mom.... I'm so happy for you dickhead"

"Stop being so damn good-looking and running your hands through your hair like you're on a shampoo commercial. We get it. You're hot. You have awesome sex hair"

" "Sometimes I booty call the delivery boy from China Wok when I'm drunk" - Amy Jackson"

Needless to say me and Amy Jackson could be BFF's. She made me laugh so hard I cried. In front of my sister who was watching a movie at the time. She thought I was drunk.

My review for this book is the first of its kind for Fifty5Cents Book Blog. I love NA Alcorn, more than a sister, more than a friend, more than Gavin Rossdale... That's a lot!
So, naturally I love her books. Having been privy to the story from its conception, I know these characters and their hearts. I fee like I've spent the last three months with them and I'll miss not having Amy and James phone calls with my best friend about them. Such is an author's life.

Hopefully book 3 is better.

She’s nothing like I have ever encountered. The strength of her character (and yes, of her mouth), blew me away. Outspoken would probably be an understatement. This gi

The Book Trollop

This is the second book in the Infamous Series by N.A. Alcorn and, so far, it's my favorite.

Avoiding Amy was AHHHH-MAY-ZING!! I was laughing until I was crying, getting irritated with Amy, LOVING James, and I even got a little teary eyed with certain parts... It was all around amazing and the damn thing is covered in highlights from the very beginning to the very end.

While reading, I kept saying "OMG this is my favorite line....e

Okay so here's the deal with this book and it's predecessor. It was laugh out loud funny, even hilarious at times, but all that was overshadowed by the fact that I couldn't stand the main character. Don't get me wrong. I love sassy, snarky leading ladies, but I also need them to be smart, sharp and astute in their snarkiness. This chick was loud, crass and emotionally underdeveloped. I couldn't connect. Just not my kind of chick.

And then there's the quality of the writing... While the author is

Holy frickin holy..... There are no words. I wasn't sure how NA was going to out do Ellen's book with the funnies or the humor but she proved me wrong. You know its a great book when you get the best ab workout ever without going to the gym. 6 plus stars for this one. Can not wait for Lizzy's book.

I was in the mood for something light and fun and this was it! I knew this book was going to be hilarious after reading the first in the series, especially since it’s focused on Amy, Ellen’s "outspoken, raunchy, in-your-face, loudly inappropriate ER Nurse who makes a career out of indulging” best friend.

My closest friends call me Am, my one-night stands most likely call me greedy cunt, and everyone else probably enjoys calling me an asshole. I won’t deny that the latter two are warra

4.5 out of 5 stars

Avoiding Amy Jackson was my first N.A. Alcorn book, I had no idea what to expect but when your blog partner tells you to stop what you're doing and just read the prologue you know it's going to be good!

Meet Amy Jackson...she's stubborn, smart, straight-forward, tells it exactly like it is, never holds back, witty, a little bit crazy, and a lot crass. She's not interested in dating or being in a relationship, she doesn't want the men she sleeps with getting to close because you

Just when I thought N.A. Alcorn couldn’t top The Infamous Ellen James, she goes and proves me wrong. Avoiding Amy Jackson was everything that I loved about the first book and more!

One of the big things that I loved about Ellen’s book was her personality and sense of humor. She’s inappropriate and foul mouthed and I loved every bit of it. Luckily, Amy’s mouth could stand to be washed out with soap a few (hundred) times as well. She’s quick-witted, a touch bitchy, a lot feisty, and brutally honest

Amy is Ellen's best friend and fellow ER nurse from
Book 1. She is a little wild and enjoys engaging in one night stands and she has no intentions of settling down. She has a strong personality and once James, a doctor at the hospital, turns her down because she it too intoxicated, she makes it her mission to hate him. After a while though, James starts to really grow in her and they become really greats friends and any has to keep squashing the feelings she has for him because maybe, just maybe,

4.5 romantic hilarity stars!! Okay, I'll start off with why I removed a half-star. No spoiler, but Amy lost her little brother in an accident. She blames herself and figures if she wasn't selfish, then he'd still be alive. And herein lies my problem with her. If you're grief-stricken due to your selfishness (her words, not mine), then why would you continue to live your life selfishly? Why wouldn't you let his life and death mean something? Why wouldn't you live your life the best way you could ...more

A great follow up to the first book. This one is about Amy and the guy who "declined" her offer of smexxy times - and really, it's because he doesnt want to because she was very drunk.

But of course, this is Amy, Ellen's potty-mouthed, stubborn and crazy best friend. She took it as the biggest insult ever, refuses to have anything to do withnhim and DrJames Williams has been trying to make amends ever since.

So he tries the hollywood romance way - by getting her to agree to be friends only. They

I LOVE the cover. It's GREAT!
Very funny. Several laugh out loud moments.
I loved the slow build up of their relationship.
I loved their chemistry.
I loved having so much info on Ellie & Trent.

I had a hard time with her continuing to get physical with others while falling for him. It wasn't cheating so it wasn't a deal breaker, but I still didn't really want to read about it. I couldn't just brush that off, es

All I can say is James was a saint. To watch the woman you are falling for go off with other men and still be in the fight... All I can say is WOW. I wish there was a guy who would see past all my faults and still fight to be with me. That would be amazing.

Amy was just as hilarious if not more so than she was in the first book. I would have killed Ellie for waiting so long before needed to go to the hospital. I kept waiting for Amy to tell her it was her own fault. But she was a good fri

I was really looking forward to this book after reading the first in the series.

There were a lot of laugh out really loud moments I mean when the main character has inner thoughts like

Deep breaths. You will not be the crazy, masturbating, porn-addicted cat lady.

you know it's going to be a funny read and it definitely was.

The only problem I had was that Amy and James took soooo long to get themselves sorted but I know that for their c
