Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT): Complete Study Guide to the Written Exam and Oral Assessment

In an effort to provide the benefits of this study guide to the widest possible audience, we are offering the Kindle edition for the low price of $9.99 -- as well as offering the book for free as part of the Amazon Owners' Lending Library (only available to Amazon Prime members). However, please note that the book includes a number of tables and other formatting features that despite our efforts do not translate perfectly into the Kindle format. FSOT
The Complete Study Guide to the Foreign Service Officer Test includes information about the test and foreign service, test-taking strategies and practice questions (including full explanations) and essay prompts.
According to a Department of State presentation, only 8% of candidates that took the written exam in 2009 passed all three steps. This demonstrates how important it is to prepare appropriately for the exam. Further, if you fail the FSOT you will need to wait 12 months before being allowed to take the test again.

Useful, but nothing special. The FSOT is a breeze, though.

One of the worst test-prep materials that I have ever read, but I guess it's more or less functional.

It was very helpful. The recommended readings list was of great help organizing materials!
