This is an excellent introductory guide to the amazing underwater world of the Caribbean (including southern Florida). I have used this guide after scuba diving in Cozumel to help identify fish, corals, sea fans (Gorgonians), sponges, and crustaceans (crabs, lobsters). The illustrations are excellent; however for more comprehensive coverage of fishes, I would recommend using Atlantic Coast Fishes in the Peterson Field Guide series by Robins/Ray/Douglass.

A solid guide to Caribbean fauna. I will say I was surprised that sea turtles, lobsters, and cnidarians were included. This book also shows it’s age in that some genus and common names are no longer correct.
