This is a fascinating dark read. I loved the world building of the Abyss and I'm interested in reading more about the origins of the creatures found there. Rayne, the main character, was difficult to like. There was definitely a reason for this, but I will say it made it a bit hard for me to get into the story right away. This took a little while for me to get into it, but once I did, it was hard to put down. Much like the main character, I found the real-world scenes dull and read through them quickly to get back to the Abyss. The author's descriptions were vivid and imaginative. It had a strong Lovecraftian feel to it, with its own deep backstory that I found fascinating. Realm Wraith is a dark fantasy that follows a man named Rayne as he find himself struggling between two worlds after a near death experience. While he is awake, Rayne attempts to rebuild his life after the accident including his job and his relationship with his son.
