If you need to identify an animal in the southern African bushveld and learn a little bit of background information about it, then this is the book for you. Also includes animal tracks. A classic. Must read if you are going in safari in southern Africa.

I bought this book in South Africa, so I could be more aware, I didn't find it as useful as Newman's birds of South Africa.
