A) The main characters are described with a few accurate details to communicate if they are good or bad. The characters are simple and flat.
B) I honestly was not familiar with any stories similar to the seven told in this book. I am sure there are other editions of each of these stories.

Working my way through all the Eric Carle books and this popped up. I hadn't realised he had illustrated Hans Christian Andersen stories. They have been interpreted too which makes them a fun read. I'll have to look out for a copy of this book for my collection.
