Rimligt att klintberg är torr men helt orimligt att alla gamla svenskar han intervjuvat är så otroligt dåliga på att berätta historier.

En bok från bondesamhällets muntliga tradition. Här finns det råd, varningar och berättelser om möten med tomtar, troll och näcken. Det gäller att vara försiktig därute i landets skogar. Det finns även en informativ inledning med bl.a. en genreanalys och diskussion om varför dessa sägner har berättats.
