The Book of Revelation is not a book of doom and gloom but rather the story of victory of the Lamb of God and those who follow Him. In this third book in a groundbreaking series, Dr. Richard Booker explains John's vision within its original historical, literary, and biblical context.
Written in Dr. Booker's usual clear style, The Victorious Kingdom is powerful, prophetic, practical, and personal--ideal for individual or group study. The Victorious Kingdom, shares fresh perspectives that include:
- Reading Revelation within the context of its biblical Jewish roots - Learning the historical and spiritual background of the seven churches (congregations) -Learning the influence of Greek mythology and Roman imperial cult worshipUnderstanding the Book of Revelation is a three-volume series that helps you see the future by examining the past: Volume 1-The Overcomers, Volume 2-The Lamb and the Seven-Sealed Scroll, andVolume 3-The Victorious Kingdom.
"Yet in all things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ (Messiah) Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:37-39)." The book of Revelation is basically written in code, I believe it is one of the hardest books to interpret because there is so much allegorical material....Booker really took the time to not only write to the best of his ability his interpretation through God's will, but each page was filled with scripture to make use of the real effect of what he was writing about plus the end of each section had review questions to cement the reader's understanding. This book made me feel secure, it sounds like an odd word to use, however, I really felt okay, like I can face the world and even though bad things are happening all around us in this world, there is a purpose for it. And in the end, it will all be revealed and worth the journey. I am now interested in reading Booker's other works.
Richard Booker has a view about the book of Revelation that is unique and enlightening. I will never look at that book the same way again. Instead of concentrating on the book of Revelation as a predictive device, he invites us instead to view it as revealing the interactions between forces in the physical world we live in and the spiritual world that God guides us from. His premises are carefully build and laid out and he calls from prodigious cross references, especially to the book of Daniel, but also from the books of John, Isaiah, and Psalms among others. He carefully plots how the verses in Revelation relate to each other and support each other. He draws from meaning that people of the time would seeing in the verses as well as relating them to us and our time.
This is the third book in the series. It will not be very meaningful if you do not read that other two first. Also, plan to have a bible handy and plan to work through the verses he quotes. it is tedious but eminently worthwhile.
You won't read the book of Revelation that same way again.
Booker's exposition was amazing. I've read Revelation several times but missed a lot. I liked the enthusiasm and joy Booker put into his writing. He was like a cheerleader for Christ's return.
I didn’t notice that this was the third book in a series but it covers the later portion of Revelation quite well. I did note a Trinitarian bent to the whole thing but all the scriptures are soundly grounded
This book on Revelation is well written so we can understand what is in our future. This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ. It is given to John and revealed by Jesus
