Lillee is a bit of a rebel-- she doesn't have any desire to learn to swim or fly like her siblings, but wishes to go about things her own way. Wandering about while her brothers and sister are learning to swim, she encounters Mr. Furry-legs who shows her where some tasty nasturtium leaves are because she needs to get plumper. Day after day she wanders in the forest and meets this same friendly creature who shows her where something yummy to munch on is. One day Lillee realizes this is the very same bad guy her mother warned her about and suddenly understands staying with her family, learning to swim and fly isn't such a bad idea after all.

This book felt very odd and outdated to me.

This one is about a ducky named Lillie, who is learning to walk like a rock star when others, well, walk like a duck. Lillie is warned that Mr Furry Legs Fox is out there to eat duckies with no mercy and no guilt! But will Lillie listen? Nah! Along the path she meets Mr Fox, who seems the perfect gentlefox and feeds the admittedly skinny duck with snails and berries every day until she's fattened. But of course once a ducky is fat, she's lunch, and that's that! Can Lillie learn to fly soon enough to escape Mr Fox and his hunger for...more??? Lillie, it turns out, is an independent thinking duck who's proud as a, well, peacock, but that's another bird for another story. Three cheers for Lillie the Ducky!

Ok book about a duckling who is afraid of swimming and goes walking into the forest instead, only to be fattened by a fox to be eaten. Illustrations are very nice. Story concept? Not quite.

Seems like I read this book at least once a week, all my kids like it. About a young duck and the way she trusts a stranger that is just looking to fatten her up and eventually eat her and her family. I would use this book in the classroom to speak about strangers and how we really don't know if they are good or bad and this is why we shouldn't speak to them. Illustrations are in watercolor and really vivid.

I'm not absolutely sure what to think of this book. One could take away all sorts of lessons on obedience, wisdom, courage, not being gluttonous.... The pictures are all right. Part of the story (with its illustrations) might be a bit scary, depending on the age of your audience. I suppose if my child picked this book and didn't have nightmares later, then it's all right.

Lillee the duck is small and skinny. And she doesn't want to swim or fly like her brothers and sisters - she wants to walk. Her mother warns her to be wary of the fox. Nonetheless, she wanders into the woods were said Fox tries to fatten her up before eating her.

Kinda cute illustrations.
