In a little medieval town by the river, the mayor searches desperately for the happiest person in town because unless that individual crosses the new bridge first a curse will fall on everyone.

I love how this book is trying to find the happiest person to cross the bridge. Happiness is not in things but of who you are as a person and who is in your life.
I liked where this book was going, but then the ending was rather lame and I wasn't too happy with it. The pictures might also be too old looking for a story time audience. Great lessons in the book. But just not quite the thing.
I think that it was interesting to watch the mayor search for a person with the most happiness so that there would not be a course placed on the town. I think that this would be an excellent book to talk about what real happiness is.
