“Time for dinner,” the vampire hissed.

Sharp fangs bit into Piper’s neck. They pressed deeply into her flesh and hot surging pain erupted in her mind. She couldn’t scream. Mind turned blank and world spinning, Piper stood there, almost drowning in the rain, as the vamp girl drank from her.

After the brutal murder of her father, Piper tried to escape the life of servitude und

I was given an ARC e-copy of The Runaway's Secret by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank You Leah!!

Wow! What a story--full of action, anger, love, betrayal, and more, add in coming of age and facing ones fears, makes this an AWESOME and spellbinding read.

Being on the run from your fears is often the most loneliest of places. The opening scene grabbed my attention and kept me rivited as the story drew me in as it twisted and turned depicting a clear picture of what was happening.

I received this book, digital version, in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. Where do I start, what should I really say? I am a huge fan of the fantasy and paranormal fiction genre. I am always on the look out for that next "pull me in" story. I do love some of the classics, but I enjoy when a good author can take an old idea and turn it into something fresh and NEW!! I am so thrilled to say Leah D.W. did just that with this book. As I write this I am still floating on the rush and ready for mor

The Runaway’s Secret by Leah D.W. is an action-packed thriller with dramatic twists and turns. This is the perfect YA vampire story but even as an adult I was riveted from the opening scene. Leach’s characters and storyline are well developed, engaging, and likable. Admittedly, Solomon was my absolute favorite. The man is full of heart, soul, wisdom, and depth; he took my breath away.

Imagine being on your own, running from your past, and praying that it doesn’t catch up with you and destroy you

I enjoyed this book but found it hard to really get into the story. I'm not sure why this was, the only thing that I can think would be that the main character Piper I really did not like, I'm not sure why this was but I will try to explain.

Piper is at boarding school and is struggling with her cravings for blood. One night all this changes when ghouls attack the school and she is taken by a vampire to a school for supernatural beings. She doesn't want to be there as she is running from a vampir

The Runaway’s Secret by Leah D.W. has been Re-Vamped! Leah has taken the book I loved and made me fall in love all over again. With this re-release under a different publisher, CHBB, comes a new and exciting tale. We not only experience Piper’s point of view, we also get to dive into the mind of a true predator. I found myself laughing and crying throughout the story. I also enjoyed the unexpected twist and turns, but I was sad when it ended and was left wanting more. I can't wait for the next b ...more

When I first started this book I had a hard time getting into it, because it was a bit confusing. Piper is not the traditional Vampire I expected when the Thirst was described and what not. As the story moved to the Manor though my interest picked up. I liked the love triangle for a short time, and the one she chose. I definitely couldn't predict the story and it was a page turner. I look forward to the next installment of this series. Oh, and the school made me think of Monster High. I received ...more

Didn't find the writing any good, and I just couldn't get into this one. I usually like an Academy angle but not here. Yawn.
