Can’t remember what I thought I was going to rate this… anyway.
I read the Winnie series first. Honestly, I didn’t like those books that much. It felt… too cliche and I couldn’t connect.
My aunt got me this series as a Christmas present, and thinking about it now, I think Horsefeathers was the original Winnie. I feel like the author felt the need to redo the series/make it stronger, so she made it the Winnie series and then got rid of these ones (there were MANY similarities, and now you can only find Horsefeathers used) I actually liked Horsefeathers more. I think it’s aimed a little more for teenagers than MG, but I wish the author would have simply made Horsefeathers stronger instead of getting rid of it for the Winnie series.
This book is so good! It's about orphaned girl and her horse. She learns about God and with his help her dream comes true. Her dream is to open a backyard horse barn.
Kept my attention, but some of the main character's attitudes were hateful at first. She does learn some things about forgiveness, but not enough to truly love her enemy (maybe that comes later in the series). Also, the salvation message is rushed and Arminian. The writing style jumped into things in a confusing way in the beginning, but was engaging and creative throughout.
Sarah Coop, better known as Scoop is in deep trouble. Her Grandfathers stables are to be sold, along with her horse, Orphan. Scoop, along with her friends Maggie and Jen set out to save them. But that's not the only problem. A new family has just moved into town, bringing with them a beautiful horse, Buckinghams British Pride. Scoop becomes good friends with their son, Carl, but his twin sister Carla is a snob. And why won't Carl come to school? Why won't he talk to anyone else? And why does Carla insist she doesn't have a brother? This book is sure to keep you guessing.
This book is an awesome start to a great series! Any one who likes horses ( or even if you don't ) will love these books! Dandi Daley Mackall is one of my favorites authors and she didn't disappoint with this series. One thing about it is that it's a little bit older series so some of the things that they say aren't up to date. This series is heartfelt and very touching. I would definitely recommend it!
This was a pretty good book overall. It got really confusing towards the middle of the book. It's about a girl who's trying to save her horse ranch. But to save it she would need to win a rodeo competition. Otherwise she would lose her horse Orphan. To win she needs to work with her new neighbors who's names are Carl and Carla. Or so she thought they where. In the end there's a giant plot twist!

I think, I need to re listen, to the first book, I recall reading, and like it, was lucky to find an audio copy of the book, I am not one for horse shows, but I am both a lover of horses and God, and folks with other problems, this book has a way of getting to me
