Subtitled "a love story" and follow the "better loved and lost" theme. Well written. tender and believable.

Book is a bit too much addressing the then impending handoff of HK from Britain to China. Chinese human rights abuses and tyranny, Tibetan independence, Buddhist religious tenets. Its end, while well written, had me in tears but seemed a little "deus ex machine".

Horrible. Wooden dialogue. Unlikable characters. Uninteresting story. How this book ever got published is beyond me.

The months leading up to 'Handover' were intense and emotional for all of us. Elegant does it so well.
