Brock Holloway has it all -- money, friends, a bitchin' car and a promising football career. At least, that's what people see. Inside, though, Brock is fighting for something he knows he can never have: Unconditional love. As the child of Aphrodite, he is worshipped, admired, wanted - but never loved.

Brock Holloway is great at keeping up appearances. From the outside looking in you would see a successful football player with money, friends and the ability to get any guy he wants into his bed. The view from the inside is completely different though. Brock is lonely and vulnerable, he is abandoned by his adoptive parents and while he can get any guy he wants, they only want sex, they can’t give him the one thing he craves more than anything else... Love.

Brock is a manwhore who has everything, of all the Olympians he's one of the few who got adopted by decent parents, tons of money, and the best of everything. But apperances can be deciving, all those men he has been with only wanted the prize of bedding him and weren't looking for a relationship. His parents might have looked great when people were around, but when they were alone they ignored him and made him do everything for himself, and the money might have been nice but it never gave him t

Another wonderful sequel.
I'm so used to all the characters in this series that I know exactly who is who, it doesn't confuse me at all.
I think this is the only time that I can really said after 28 books (the 2 series interlope) I finally got them all work out. Bring it on!!

I have been waiting for this book for so long. Ever since they first met and the whole "you smell like jizz" thing. This was bit of a let down. I mean the scene that lead to depress Brock and whole suicide attempt just seemed overly dramatic. What I mean is will 12 years old pills be that effective anymore? I think I would have accepted it more if his power was empathy. In the previous books Brock is portrayed as a carefree, sexually active college football player. His character development didn

Many moons ago I picked up a book called A Marked Man. Someone had been raving about it on my Facebook page so off I went to purchase it. I hadn’t realised at the time it was the first book in a very long series called Assasin/Shifter! I was addicted; there are currently 23 books in that series and I have loved every single one of them. Keeping up with the world building and characters alone must be a full time job for Sandrine!!

To appreciate this book you need to have read the previous three in the series. To fully appreciate the series, you might benefit from reading the Shifter/assassin series which introduces many of the characters.
Just as each book advances the main plot, we also get the bonding of another couple. Here, mostly we get back story, rather that a major leap in the removal of the rogue elements, but we certainly get a moving roman ...more

This author doesn't have the most well written stories but there is always an entertainment factor to them... In all her series and I've read lime 30 of her books.

Still loving this series and characters even though Brock is not one of my faves.

I am so addicted to this series! The assassin/ shifter series never fails to deliver an intense, incredible story that grips you from page one. This one is so much more because it deals with difficult situations with amazing compassion. Suicide is a huge factor in this book, and having had to deal with this subject in my own world, I was concerned how it would play out. Sandrine has gone above and beyond in how she expressed the facets of it. I knew this book would be awesome, but it exceeded my

As a story this is silly as usual but entertaining enough. However, in regards to a message about suicide it completely fails in my opinion.
Not only does that situation develop in an extremely heavy-handed fashion, but (view spoiler) . Making someone who is suicidally depressed feeling even worse about themselves is the wrong way to deal with the situation.

Brock just wants someone to love him for him. So far he's only found guys that lust after his body because he's the son of Aphrodite. But Zack is different. Zack sees him.
I just love this series. I don't have enough words and gush for these guys. The shifters, assassins and olympians that Sandrine has created a world around are just the most wonderful there are. I can't get enough of them! ...more

I think reading out of order was a bad idea.
I get the gist that the 12 Olympians are supposed to stop something, or protect the world from something....not sure what though. This is MY FAULT though, because I'm sure that if I had read the first 3 books I'd already know that info.
I also feel like I'd enjoy the side characters more if I hadn't read out of order.

Another great add to the series. Brock Holloway and Zach Duran were a surprising story for me. These two haven't been my favorite characters so I wasn't excited to read it and just wanted to get it over to go onto the next. I am SO happy I was wrong! This was surprisingly sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. Just wow, I did not think I could like them and I do now! Great Job Sandrine, can't wait for the next.

I read this one out of order ~ I'm not quite up to this stage, but it really didn't matter since I'd already met all the characters (through to book 22).
I enjoyed the conflict that both MCs experienced in fighting and then embracing their attraction to each other. Our bad guys pop-up throughout the book but they are much more a side-plot than a solid focus. SGD really focuses on the pairings and their trials to make together. IMHO one of her better stories. ...more

Loved it
Absolutely loved this book and the characters. There is always so much going on with each couple and then individually. That while you know that they are going to get together. It still leaves you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. On to the next one.

4 star review by Tara
This is the fourth book in the Olympian series following Lux Ex Tenebris and I do not recommend this as a standalone. We were introduced to Brock Holloway way back when, as the man loving football player that didn’t seem to turn away any man that paid him attention. At first glance he seems to be shallow, self centered, a man who has everything within his reach, but underneath all of that is a man who is in pain. Finding out he was the child of Aphrodite only made things wor ...more

WOW! Once you get into these books you will not want to come out!!! What an amazing concept. So very different!!! Took me back to early high school and greek mythology but in a great way! So far there are four books out in this series and I can only assume there will be twelve total books since there are twelve Olympians. I read all four for this review so let me talk about the others first.

I really love this series so much and the dynamic of friendships formed since the first book of A Marked Man. The Olympians is a spin-off series from Assassin/Shifter series and Sandrine has managed to work in a third series that will have characters from this series to make guest appearances. This is the Santorno Series and I really can't wait for more on this particular series. Sandrine is a very talented writer to be able to combine so many characters and keep it all in order. Brock and Zack are two in a large family of Olympians and Shifters. Their relationship starts out quite rocky, as they are learning about themselves and each other. Zack is attracted to Brock, but due to jealousy, an emotion that is unfamiliar to Zack, he belittles Brock on a regular basis. Brock believes that Zack is the epitome of rude and annoying.

It is so hard to want something so bad that you settle for a taste of what could be. I have been there and it is a dark murky place that allows you to not question anything just as long as you get your fix even if it is just for a moment in time. Brock has learned from an early age If you just put together enough of those moments, maybe just maybe the lie you live can be enough to survive on. This carousel lie is one he can’t seem to stop, long enough to grasp how out of control his life has bec

The 12 Olympians series is a spin-off of the wonderful Assassins/Shifters series. The shifters have been brought in to guard the 12 demi-gods, who have been threatened. In Strange Addiction, we see the pairing of the son of Aphrodite with a wolverine shifter. Both are instantly attracted to one another, but the son of Love's active social life creates friction. Brock is the son of Aphrodite. He can make anyone lust for him, but what he craves, what he needs, what he has never had, even from his adoptive parents, is someone to love him. He wants the relationship, not just another meaningless hook up. The one person that seems to draw him like no other is Zack, but Zack seems to hate him and acts like an asshole. He can't figure out why he's "the one", but he is. He just hopes he can get to the real Zack before it tears him apart, all the while he and hi

This is our Fourth story of The 12 Olympians and it was another outstanding installment. This was the story between Brock and Zack. Brock who feels that no one can truly see him is hiding all his pain in meaningless sex. This young man who seems to have it all, unraveled. Zack his guardian, who is fighting his own demons from his past doesn't understand why he is there until it's almost to late. These two men save each other from a world of private pain and misunderstanding. I thought this was a

I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but "Old School" French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell

“Dasan was frowning, deep wrinkles in his forehead. Brock jerked his head toward Ruslan. “Um, your charge pissing you off?” “He’s so, UGH! That man thinks he’s God’s gift or something.” “I know what you’re really thinking.” Nikolai nudged Dasan. “You want to bust open his anal walls like the Kool-Aid man! Ohhh yeahhhh!” Colin spit his beer out and Brock snorted water up his nose as they all broke out in a fit of laughter. Even Dasan couldn’t help but chuckle at Nikolai’s analogy. “Dude.” Zack wiped his eyes. “Never a dull moment.”
