The Cow Buzzed

"Buzz buzz", said the cow. "Cough cough, sniffle sniffle, ah-choo!" Something is not right. Not only do all the animals on the farm have sniffles and sneezes, they all have the wrong voices, and even the farmer is confused. It's crazy and mixed-up fun in this cumulative tale that all begins when a bee sneezes! Full color.

Hilarious! Fun story with charming illustrations. Fast-paced story with catchy wordplay for reading aloud and participation from story groups. I used to read this all the time to visiting groups when I was a Children's Librarian. Kids love this story. Shame that it's out-of-print.

themes: animals, cold, farm, sneeze
The Brothers
A bee flies into the barnyard and sneezes, giving the cow not only his cough, but his buzzing sound as well. The cow sneezes on another barnyard animal, passing on the cough and the cow's moo. And so it goes for many, many pages. A tad tedious, but nice if you want to indulge in barnyard noises.

Okay illustrations - nothing special.

Children of all ages will enjoy reading and acting out this silly tale. Author Andrea Zimmerman also adds in a few cautionary lines of advice about proper sneeze and cough etiquette that fit seamlessly into the story.

I was looking for some good interactive / funny books to do with SK for storytime, and Ms. Kirsch recommended this one as one of her favorite books of all time to read aloud... so I interlibrary loaned it, read it, and fell in love. SK also loved it.

A simple, but funny story with a great lesson for young children about what happens when you don't cover your face when you're sick and sneeze on someone.

The bee is sick and his cold spreads all around the farm! Great story for teaching kids about covering their sneeze!

Too long for our groups, not held at QACL. Great transfer of noise book for older toddlers.
