A coffee table book that tells you all about how to install a great small garden in your yard. It even goes into walls and ponds and the like.
Not as technical as it could be, but definitely useful for the novice, or as an idea inspirer.

Somewhat dated and little information about natural and wildlife-friendly gardens, but is is a good resource for looking up categories of various types of plants, and there are well-illustrated instructions for building different types of garden structures, including for kitchen and herb gardens.

Lots of ideas for beautifying small spaces, especially if you like building stuff.
